We’ll re-enter in about a decade. Much reduced, much maligned; contrite. And we’ll have to give up the pound.
We had it so good. Not saying there weren’t big downsides for lots of people. That’s just the way it is. There will be winners and losers out of any political system. But overall, it made the lives of the vast majority of people in this country discernibly better than it otherwise would have been.
We have completely fucking blown it.
It will take longer than that, a generation at least, if at all.
The well being of the masses has never been of any concern to our ruling elite. Brexit is a disaster for the vast majority of us, particularly the poor, but there'll be enough in the coffers to placate a slice of middle England, enough to keep the Brexit bandwagon on the road for the medium term, and there'll always be someone to blame when things turn to shit.
Folk in here have to stop banging on about what a shit show this is for the British people. Our masters don't give a fuck about the British people! They love England of course, Eton, Harrow, the Guards, the Monarchy, the City, but they despise most of the people who actually live in Britain. This is a ruling class that gave us the workhouse for fuck sake! That sent a million men over the top to their deaths in the 1st World War. You think they'll give a shit about pensioners dying of hypothermia in Manchester this winter? They didn't give a fuck when they sent Covid to our care homes!
The ruling class don't give a monkey's nuts about the vast majority of us, they never have and they never will.
Tory MPs celebrate food banks being opened in their constituencies because they're celebrating the death of the welfare state. Charities are best placed to help those who make bad life choices.
We have a government that won't tax the bloated profits of the energy companies regardless of the suffering of the people they're supposed to represent.
This is the way it's always been in this class ridden shit hole.
