Would an independent regulator stop really rich people employing their mate as a manager of the team he owns, even though the mate has no experience in managing any kind of football team, never mind a very good one ? Mind you Neville is talking about England not Spain where of course that would never happen.......

It's a soundbite idea conceived by infantile minds and impossible to implement properly for too many reasons to list here. Not that I think that will stop them.

BBC are unreal, from the Norway match report “Manchester City striker Erling Haaland played the full 90 minutes for Norway, and had four shots, but failed to score for the 10th time in 23 international games” I am sure I have never seen reports on the number of games other strikers have failed to score in at international level, or even if they mentioned this before he joined us. No balance with the number of goals he has scored in international football and it’s nearly a goal a game. Bbc sports are not fit for purpose
Oh don’t be so negative and pessimistic mate, it’s just the way you (and countless others) are reading into it , nothing to see here ;-).

Rashford has failed to score in any of his last 7 appearances for England. Let's see whether his goal drought is mentioned if he fails to score in his next game for England.

Very strange. He’s scored 3 in the last 3, 5 in the last 5 and 6 in the last 6. All this in a team that can’t make the major championships yet they refer to it like that?

Neville's book being given airtime on the Sky website. I don't know how he can keep a straight face coming out with guff like this without mentioning his vested interests as owner of a lower league club;

"The independent regulator should be regulatory experts, financial experts, not necessarily experts in football. They should oversee a fairer distribution model, sustainability, real-time financial management, prevent Derby and Macclesfield and Wigan and Bury situations happening"

Quite who all these "experts" are going to be and how their independence is assured isn't explained. Neither is he asked what his idea of a "fit and proper" owner is. In fact, no-one seems to know. Seems to me to be a soundbite that means what supporters of individual clubs want it to mean if it hampers other clubs or if they want rid of their own.

Oddly, the oversight of football never bothered him one iota when united were sweeping the board and he didn't own a club but as he explains;

"I feel more empowered to speak now and I feel stronger about those big issues that affect the game"

I bet he fucking does.
Thing that nobody ever asks him is about the current ’regulators’. We’ve got over 85 UK regulators overseeing almost everything from energy to water and health services to housing. We’ve got marine regulators, law regulators, banking and market regulators, animal welfare regulators and press standards.

In spite of that, the country is about to go bankrupt, people will be thrown out of their homes, the NHS is on the verge of collapse, we’ve got actual shit in our seas and rivers, energy prices going through the roof, a 2 year backlog in the courts and pensions very likely to go tits up again.
If Neville thinks a regulator is the answer he’s answering the wrong question…..

21 goals and 3 assists in 23 games yet rag central write that garbage , wouldn't happen with any other striker , jealousy is such an ugly trait

I’m sorry I can only give you a like, brilliantly put.

That is really distorted reporting. Four shots sounds a lot for a team like Norway. Haaland has scored 21 goals from 23 appearances for Norway. That's an incredible strike rate for such a weak international team. For example Giggs got 12 in 64 appearances for Wales and George Best got nine in 37 appearances for Northern Ireland. I realise Giggs and Best were not out and out strikers but they were the star attacking players in poor teams. It is pathetic for the BBC to seek out the negative angle every time for Haaland.

but lets face the truth they only have to regulate ONE club can't be that big a job

One day he's a cheat code and it's not fair, the next he's crap. Make your mind up lads

As I've said before, happy for them to keep trying to discredit him - it will just piss him off and motivate him. You don't piss players like Haaland off they'll ruin you. He ain't gonna whimper this guy

Can people stop with the Barry Manilow. I know I'm just one voice singing in the darkness, but all it takes is one voice - to make it stop.
I totally agree with your post, it's really sad when posters upset other people on here.
I would go as far as saying that " I can't smile without you" !!
