Agree with that last paragraph, as that is what winning titles is all about. The pisscan had it down to a fine art at the swamp. Really pissed off losing against these tossers though.I don't think It's just about the players Liverpool had on the field, but more about the system Klopp uses
pep struggles with teams hitting us on the break, it's a weakness within our setup, Liverpool bypass our forward and midfield press and hit the channels from back to front quickly,
we are so open when we are on the attack and our own corners are also a danger to us, now add silly mistakes and next thing it's in the net
pep will take losing a couple of times a season if it means we beat enough teams to win the title, so back's himself
This , i am going to spare myself the rest of this thread and more fool me for thinking we would have a goal allowed at varfieldI am putting this loss (our first of the season no less) firmly at the feet of Pep.
Say what you want about Joao’s mistake—and there is quite a lot to be said—but it should have never been 0-0 by that point in the first place.
The system was wrong, the tactics were wrong, and the sub (1 of 5) were wrong. Our lads generally didn’t play that well, to be sure, but I think a large part of that was down to the formation and tactics: Kev was wasted on the RW, Ilkay was unnecessary, if not actually a hinderance with his instructions, Phil seemingly being told to retain possession at all costs rather than test Milner.
Pep is a genius, and I wouldn’t swap him for any other manager in the world, but he got this one wrong.
Noted. We ain't winning the "WAR" this season - yep you can quote me on that in May.
Its a foul only in final third when VAR goes over it 20 x ...games can be won or lost in Stockley Park by the invisible men!...Don't get me wrong they should have had a hat full really... but really we MIGHT have changed actics if we went one up...hope we would have as we were done for speed and threat of speed. Walker covered so much of that ground when he was playing and fit...really tough without quick cover at the back. Ederson no longer on 18 yard box after being done a few times and sent off v Wolves - even more reason for speed at the back.. everyone knocks Spuds, but...they are a team made or our defense...especially when we play them at homeIf that was a foul the ball would be in play for about 5 minutes a game and we'd just be watching a load of players taking free kicks for 85 minutes, this game included.
As night follows day any VAR decision in these games (and against Spurs), invariably always goes in the oppositions favour. It'quite ridiculous tbh. This , i am going to spare myself the rest of this thread and more fool me for thinking we would have a goal allowed at varfield
Absolutely, they had to win, why not two banks of four with KDB playing in the middle to try and feed Haaland so 4 4 1 1 formation for me..id take a draw there any day..as it was, we were so exposed ...so often...this will happen in CL as well...v Madrid for example or da'pool. Klopp must love playing Pep as Pep really struggles to be so pragmatic - makes it hard to watch when we play them or Spuds...Kane passes round the corner to the wheels of Son...goal...yup spot on....every season esp at their place.
Our set up plays perfectly into Liverpools hands time and time again.
When Klopp realised rhat we were still trying to win the game. He took off Firmino and Elliott and moved Salah into the middle. Nunez is fast and so is Salah. It would have gone against all of Peps principles to have done the same. Bring on Grealish move Kev back into midfield and take off Gundo. Sat back and use our speed merchant up front on the break. Their criwd would have Bern urging them forward. For those 20mins we should have played them at their own game. Just the way I saw it but what do I know. I love the way we play football but just sometimes I wouldlove us to play the occasion. Why wouldnt we expect it? They've played that way for years. Quick hoof to a runner and hope for the best.
I know its shit football and not how we play normally but we should have been trying the hoof over
Get yourself to a reputable turf accountant with that you’ll make loadsa moneyWe ain't winning the "WAR" this season - yep you can quote me on that in May.
U havin a laugh, whos won the fuckin leauge the last 2 years,we loose against liverpool an u go after pep,do me a favourYou should be worried that Pep has bottled a big game again,
Both my sons are qualified refs so I know a little bit about the system. One used to officiate at City and utds academy and was coached by Chris Kavanagh. My other lad was affliated to the Cheshire FA and was coached by Anthony Taylor. This actually raises a serious point, which I've raised elsewhere. I'd be very curious to know if the ref has the right to simply tell the people in his earpiece that, no, he's not going over to consult the monitor. They presumably cannot order him to do so. He is the on-pitch match referee.
It would be very controversial, of course. Why would he do such a thing? Well, precisely because of this: he would be well within his rights to say, "I was right up with the game, only a few yards away, I was following it closely, I'm a trained referee at elite level, and I saw no clear and obvious error. You may have seen something playing it several times over in slow motion, but neither I nor the other two helping me out on the pitch saw it. It thus does not come under the heading of what you can legitimately intervene for. So thanks — no monitor. I stand by my decision.”
Before Var nobody even talks about a minor infringement like that leading to a goal, everything is way too forensically examined, which was always the danger with var. This actually raises a serious point, which I've raised elsewhere. They'd have gone back to the Rangers game if they hadn't have found that. Before Var nobody even talks about a minor infringement like that leading to a goal, everything is way too forensically examined, which was always the danger with var.
Not disputing Pep wins league titles and I love the guy, but that was a cowardly performance yesterday against a weakened Liverpool side, so the next big game ie; Champions league, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal let’s see what happens, that’s where my worry comes from.U havin a laugh, whos won the fuckin leauge the last 2 years,we loose against liverpool an u go after pep,do me a favour
Slow it down to 0.25 speed, at 1:05, Salah looks to swing his hand on the turn and strike the ball
