2022 World Cup Discussion

I mean, the way he addressed the issue has made Infantino come across as an unhinged sociopath. But here's the thing, he's irrefutably correct regards the hypocrisy. Honestly fed up of all this virtue signalling bullshit. How many of those self-righteous c**ts at the BBC will be lining their pockets from their involvement? If they're so morally indignant, don't take the dirty "oil money". Brazil is one of the most corrupt nations in the southern hemisphere. Their current leader is a fascist, the political system is a fraudulent mess, social inequality is stark, and instances of torture within the justice system have been well documented; but every journalist and their mothers can't get their tongues up Brazil's areshole quick enough. The West is toxic, but that's ok because we plaster transvestites on cosmetics adverts and pander to the whims of individuals who wish to be addressed as them/their.

I'll be watching, because I enjoy watching football. That doesn't mean I agree with many of Qatar's stances, but there's many things here in this country I can't abide. But I'm not a hypocrite, so I'm not going to switch off and subsequently redress my whole life and outlook because a World Cup has been awarded to a country in the Middle East.

And finally, if you want to be a social crusader, football probably wasn't the sport for you in the first place.

Not sure why but I couldnt give a fuck about the World Cup.

I generally find international football quite boring and just cannt get into it.....Euros 1996 was about the peak of my interest but nowadays i just dont care about it....Im not sure Ill even bother watching it

I felt the same about the Euros even when England got to the final...I wasnt even arsed about the result and only watched the game cause others were doing so.

Does anyone else feel this way. I just dont feel a connection at all with international football
I did for years, then City players got in the teams.

Wise words.

Just out of curiosity but, is there a reason that it starts tomorrow and not today?
It would be nice to be able to watch some football tomorrow.
In another show of defiance Qatar insisted the opening game was on Sunday.

Anyone else think that iPlayer will crash tommorow under the strain of millions trying to watch it from work?

Feels very strongly about it around the 5 star pool I bet - with all the other media hypocrites.
Getting well paid to turn a blind eye to the horrors that go on there that he himself lectures to us about the rest of the time.
I’m not convinced he’s going to say much about Qatar other than how it was a controversial decision to award them the tournament in the first place.
