Mate of mine keeps telling me that Apple have bought United, and I quote “secretly” with them planning a new stadium to be built on a site in Trafford park near Scania.

Have I missed something? Or can I go to town on the Rag **** ;-))))
When I was 13 (1971) a lad at school told me Elvis was coming to play at Belle Vue, when I said we would have read about it he replied that no, this was an unofficial concert in the car park. Your mate didn't go to Wellacre Secondary did he, I might know him.

They would if the big clubs split from UEFA and I think this is the end game for all of them including us. Clubs will ultimately own their content. Not saying it’s a good thing but it will happen in my view.

Cough, cough ...... Independent football regulator .... splutter, splutter.

The FA when BSkyB decided to sell their small % in United after a full buyout was called out by politicians, effectively blocking the move.

I thought that's what you were getting at.

It's not relevant at all. The only reason that was blocked by the government, not the FA, was because Sky had exclusive broadcast rights and it was decided it would be a monopoly to have exclusive broadcast rights and a seat at the table awarding broadcast rights.

Post OFCOMs ruling that no one can have exclusive broadcasting rights, there can be no broadcasting monopoly so there's nothing to stop a broadcaster from owning a club - especially a minority one.

Still don't think they'll be interested though.

The Government have destroyed most of the Uk and now want to attack the PL which is the best in World Football. Lower league football and non league is better supported than ever and much stronger than it was in the 60s 70s and 80s. This move is political interference. It is happening in every area of our life and damaging the country in many areas.

... and, yet, it is happening again apparently.

It is incredible. We have ineffective regulators for everything: all areas of the NHS, the rail industry, the housing industry, the banking and finance sector, the media industry. And yet in most of these areas the regulators have failed to protect the public. They are packed with people with political links and influence or those from lobby groups. It is a just a gravy train.
Football already has the FA, the PL, UEFA, FIFA, who are all supposed to regulate things. The PL is arguably our most successful export at present. How can this be a priority when we can't even provide fire-safe housing blocks for people five years after Grenfell Towers? This is just a cheap deflection tactic by Sunak. A political stunt. These politicians think we are all fucking stupid.

I doubt that you could find a bigger set of cunts than this Tory parliament .

Absolute disgrace with everything they get their grubby hands on.

I believe that the invisible man showed up at the Belle Vue Elvis gig....
