he seemed thoroughly fed up............how can he not be fit...........this is worrying
Its Pep's call, but I get the feeling Pep doesn't fancy Kalvin. Just a feeling I get going all the way back to August.

I find that hard to believe. I think there's much more to it than him being out of shape.

Interestingly Pep said Dias was injured but Phillips “wasn’t fit” and “didn’t arrive in best condition”. Strange choice of words.
I think with Pep, that’s a very precise choice of words. Phillips has been put on notice. In Pep’s pre match presser he said something that he doesn’t know who will come back from WC fit and who will come back fat. You wouldn’t want to be one of the ones to come back unfit and i think that’s exactly what has happened here with Phillips. Stupid by Phillips. He more so than anyone should have been busting a gut to get/remain fit having not been available all season to date.

I’m a little shocked that Phillips has come back not even fit enough to make the matchday squad. I didn’t think he was the kind of character to allow that to happen, even more so after the start he’s had here, you’d think he’d be motivated to show what he’s about. And we’re not talking about him being injured, Pep was pretty clear about that - he’s not injured, he’s returned in poor condition. It’s surprising. So surprising in my opinion, that I wonder if something else has gone on entirely. I’ve no idea what, but honestly does anyone actually think he’s the kind of guy to return out of shape when he’s been warm weather training for 4-5 weeks? I just don’t understand how that can happen.

Frustrating if he's injured. Doubly so if it's his fitness.

Fair enough he lacks match fitness, given how little he's played this season, including at the World Cup.

But he should have been in good enough condition for the bench, both in case Rodri needed to come off the pitch, and to try to get him some match minutes under his belt if the opportunity arose.

Right now it's like having no cover at CDM and that's really concerning over a long period.

MIA yet again, looks like we know why his fee was so cheap, make or break few weeks for him, we can't afford to carry passengers.

Fucking awful signing.

More so considering we allowed one of the most promising DM's in Academy, and who stepped up to Prem football like a duck to water,to leave.
Yeah it's not turning out well is it. As soon as he missed that presentation day I had a bad feeling.

I hope he turns it around and makes me look stupid as like you said, we lost a very good quality academy player because of this signing.

Lavia was sold on our terms. The lad was ready for prem football and we couldn't give it him, we did a deal with Southampton that is massively in our favor.

There's always need for a time after his surgery, the decision to take him to World Cup squad is not wise. The blame solely on England management, just like decision to take Kyle Walker and John Stones when both are recently been injured before World Cup.

Danny Mills II ?
Hopefully not yet, but I can just imagine the bollocking he would get if Vinny/Fern were still Club Captain. He's got till June to shape up , otherwise out the door ; I expect Pep will have made that fairly clear to him.
