I can't imagine he's short of a bob or three. Whatever you may think of him, and he wouldn't be on my Christmas card list for next year, he wouldn't strike me as the sort to have pissed it all up against a wall, or sniffed it all away. How much money does he really need? Newcastle would have been a good move for him, if they were still interested.

Think he has been offered to every club in Europe over the last 12 months and no one was stupid enough to take him on due to wages, age and ego.
