Guaridiola explains selecting Grealish over Foden for Man City
Pep Guardiola addressed why Phil Foden has only started one of Manchester City's last six fixtures.www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Here Pep is saying why he choses Grealish over Foden on some occasions
He says Grealish has the extra pass while Foden is better when more vertical. Im interpriting that is that he means Foden is better inbetween the lines with his movement and passing where as Grealish is wider, maintains possession and withn theat width we need to break down teams at times
(obviously thats just an interprittion of what Pep has said as he didnt go on to explain it).
IF this is the case then surely he can see that though Grealish does offer that width we get very little from it and his extra passis often sideways or backwards slowing the game down and having no postive influence in terms of creating goal scoring opportunities. It also goes against what pep has said previously about how he wants his players to be free in the final third
Again I could be misreading/misunderstanding wha he has said
Thoughts?????
Very true. Pep will play Foden when we need a win like against Villa, Brentford and Liverpool. Let the young lad run againstTo me, Pep’s being asked this question because it’s ear impossible to see how Grealish is better at anything than Foden.
I think Pep has been trying to rest Foden, Bernardo for the 2nd half of the season.
I also think he’s been letting Grealish play vs the shitter teams to gain confidence. Which has failed..
I suspect much like last season. When push comes to shove and we need win after win we’ll see Foden in every week..

James Milner and Ashley Young. He will win you the game.
So a City fan should ignore all the lose or tie if Foden plays, right? As long as our blue eye boy has a good time. :)What an odd thing to say for a City fan..
Ive been thinking the same and hopefully you are right.....but we are now relying on Arsenal dropping points which of course they could do but we look far from infalable as wellTo me, Pep’s being asked this question because it’s ear impossible to see how Grealish is better at anything than Foden.

Not half comparing to what you did on the other thread. If you called what I said as an insult. Isn't it the truth Pep pick Foden againstNo, but Grealish hasn’t turned in one matching winning performance in a City shirt. He’s no where near the player Foden is.
It’s also a bit weird that you’re trying to insult Foden. Pathetic really for a City ‘fan’…
If he was a City fan it would say so in his "team supported".What an odd thing to say for a City fan..
