Tbh, €120m for Enzo Fernandez is absolutely ridiculous. Not even sure why Chelsea even considered spending that amount on a CM when their CMs already is the strongest part of their team (imo). Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, Zakaria, Gallagher, Loftus-Cheek all fighting for two positions. You would think that if they would spend that kind of money on one player it would be on a striker, Auba/Havertz are not exactly world beaters. But Bohly seem to bid on everyone haha !

The Alvarez fee is a bit of a joke. It's a ridiculously high bar to set if we're going to compare every transfer deal to that one.

But yeah, the fact that Benfica supposedly want £100m+ based off a World Cup and four decent months in the Portuguese league is pretty fucking insane. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone pays it.

You cant compare current price of Enzo to old price of Alvarez. Benfica too got Enzo for kesa amount. Now if we're to sell Alvarez we too will ask big even if his impact with hasn't been that much.Not Enzo level big as it's clause but still a decent fee

I think the fact that Chelsea have pretty much a clear run at him speaks volumes for how bloated his valuation has become.

You know that when united aren't even sniffing around then it's all got the potential to go a bit James Rodriguez. Maybe even El Hadji Diouf.

CM/DM market will be in demand come summer. A lot of teams are in mix. Prices will be bonkers

Possibly but short of him going full Eusebio over the next few months, I struggle to see how his fee will get any higher.

People are still in a post World Cup frenzy where they think the likes of Rodrigo De Paul are top quality players.

I guess we'll see anyway.
 
I think Chelsea are right not to pay release fee, but also Benfica not to sell if they do not get the release clause.

Overall it is probably a transfer that is better to wait to the summer for all parties.

I could argue for even a second season at Benfica before a sale (but the WC has probably put pay to that).
 
haha chelsea seems to have indicated to the player and benfica that they will play closer to the release clause close to 120 mil. they got enzo to skip training and act up. but then when formal negotiation began they lowballed with 85 mil offer pissing of both benfica and enzo. what a shit show of a club.
