I always ensure it is known who started it after the rags stole the phrase, changed it to Hate Glazers Love Rag Fuckwits and claimed it as their own. Tom even had badges made with it on. To me it sums up everything I feel about football, Var, the linesmans comms breaking etc etc. Hate Football Love City.
As I say, I didn't know the origin. Your friend Tom has left a lasting legacy.
Keep up the good work

Anyone remember the game where we lost 4-3 there? It was the first season of VAR and decisions were taking absolutely ages to be made at every match. The day before, a marginal offside decision at Spurs had taken over 4 minutes to be made. Salah scored for them with an equally marginal offside and it had apparently been checked and awarded before he'd even finished running off to celebrate. That was at that end of the ground.....

I remember it well - it stunk to high heaven. They’d been drawing lines and yet we never saw any replay or lines for that one

Put it to the fans. Do you want VAR or go back to the days when you could go ballistic when you scored.

Liverpool get penalty’s = corruption

Liverpool don’t get penalty’s = secret corruption
There’s your strawman peeking out again. ;-)

Times have changed. Dubious penalties being awarded was once a viable method of match manipulation. But now, with the rise of match statistical data collection and the magic of regression analysis, it is no longer a valid means of doing so because it would be too easily detected as an aberrant pattern.

You’re arguing within an antiquated framework. You need to move in to the 21st century (with the league, FA, and PGMOL).

In that case why aren’t fans boycotting ? Why are attendances at record levels in the PL
I find it quite sinister that "football" chooses to turn a blind eye to something which is blatantly obvious ie the manipulation of outcomes as was clearly the case last night.

And of course every time something like this happens, the usual suspects nod sagely, rub their chins and throw-out the usual whataboutery bollocks with the pure and simple aim of denial of the obvious through obfuscation.

Meanwhile the game in this country continues to be subverted.

m8, there's so many indicators to show a bias towards lfc... I dont think its true to say brown envelopes or orchstrated corruption, but the lack of pens awarded against them, the alternative VAR-removed PL tables that show clearly how lfc benefit from VAR decisons, the clear clear bias they get from the media, the repeated VAR incidents involving lfc.... So many things that certainly make me think there's some bias going on here. It's so unusual.

I don’t deny it has happened in the past and there’s examples of match fixing around the world all the time

I would really love to be swayed officials and the FA all club together and think of ways to benefit only Liverpool and Man Utd and no one else - they’ve made a huge mistake with VAR as since the introduction both sides haven’t won much at all and Man City have dominated - they need to scrap VAR and go back to simply pointing to the spot/flagging whenever they can benefit them two clubs - if that is the sole purpose of the PL corruption

I doubt that the saner posters on here think that VAR is to benefit Liverpool and United per se, I don't even think the PL cares if City win three in a row, even if they would like change. But surely you must understand the commercial benefit to the PL of having close competition for the title and having the most popular clubs involved as much as they can. Similarly for the FA with the two cups. The referees don't have to give penalties every week, or favour those teams every week. It's easy to manipulate results by the way matches are refereed. An opaque and poorly implemented VAR is the cherry on the cake.

VAR is the answer. Implemented and applied professionally, with full transparency and absolute accountability for those making decisions.

We are a long way away from this.

The 2 cash cow clubs and those that profit from their success will not want VAR implemented properly. They are the ones that stand to lose most when it is. Either VAR implemented as per the current shit-show, or VAR removed completely, benefits those 2 clubs in particular.

In fact, this “saner poster” explained this very concept in my response to this @BlueHammer85 reply to me.

One point about the world cup VAR. The use of VAR was in new stadiums. In the premier league VAR is use in at least two stadiums ( dippers and rags ) where their grounds are not up to premier spec.

This makes any games played there a farce and ruins the integrity of the league or cup ( integrity of the fa cup is a farce involving VAR in some games and not others )

Unfortunately for football fans, the two clubs will piss poor statiums are the press/media favourites. So nothing is said about their statiums.

In other levels of the football if your ground isnt up to spec you cant be promoted. The higher up you go the worst the rules are applied.

In the so called best league in the world, you have two out of date statiums. Along with some being used for rugby.

For the best league in the world why arent the stadiums/pitches ? As fans we are being ripped off with high tickets, poor ko dates and times, and poor statiums and pitches.

VAR is clearly being used to fix games.

Salah goal 100% off side as the interpretation was changed after Silva's goal. No excuse. I cant believe the ref and VAR went against the interpretation.
I have no idea where the off side is for wolves 3rd goal.

I may be wrong, but for the CL and the WC this year, weren't they using their own cameras installed at pre-defined points in all stadiums on a consistent basis? But in England, we are still just using broadcast cameras? I guess with the introduction of SAOT, this problem with cameras will be resolved.

Doesn't explain why blind spots are accepted at any grounds though.

You don’t think Man Utd fans moan and cry about VAR when decisions go against them ?
Of course they do. Every fan does. It doesn’t mean they aren’t being aided by the league to “protect the product”.

And it certainly doesn’t mean we should be confusing a Bingo gambling site “analysing” Twitter posts (and then being referenced on a Football humour and troll site) with legitimate scientific research. ;-)

We got on just fine without it. There were mistakes but we accepted that as part and parcel of the game. VAR had killed the reason we go: to celebrate goals.
As I said, put it to the fans.
