Corruption in English football?

Simple question really, is football corrupt?

I thought I’d seen some dodgy officiating in my time, the Taylor performance for Chelsea vs City being high up the list but that was a new low in football.

How can you be one on one with keeper, about to shoot and not be offside interfering with play.
I’ll start, the game is rotten to the core!
 
I bet the Bookies are not happy.

I know a lot of people,including Blues, who fancied the Rags to beat our under performing City side today and lumped on them at over 3/1.

They were decent odds considering how shit we have been playing recently.

Fact is though you take away that overtly blatant corrupt first Rag goal it finishes 1-1.

Who knows maybe Oliver family/friends lumped on the Rags at 3/1

Those odds make corruption tempting for all bent bastards in the FA.

How would you explain Rodri handball getting completely away with it and winning the title, IE stopping lfc winning it.

I am all for there being bias in the games, especially towards the red teams, but there are enough things to show (imo) that it isnt organised cheating.
 
I was watching a documentary on Netflix a while back about a referee in the NBA who got done for match fixing, he would tell his friends who to bet on based on who was the ref, he knew certain refs hated certain players and coaches so he would tell his friends who to bet on, one part of the doc that stuck out to me was when he said the higher ups in the NBA would tell the officials to try and make the best of 7 playoff games go all the way to game 7 because of TV revenue, so yeah I would definitely say they’re is some sort of corruption in all sports and decisions like that today make it glaringly fucking obvious

they can if our club and staff and players sit back and take it instead of going on the attack with clear public statements

No chance it finishes 1-1 If that goal was disallowed. We were totally in control of the game.
 
I think of all the money the bookies will make if City DON'T win the league.
Champions for the last 2 seasons without a recognised striker, then we buy Haaland.
Gary Neville saying we'll win by a gap of double figures etc etc.
Every man and his dog must of had some sort of bet on us winning it again.

They must be in a happy place at the moment at the prospect of not having to pay out millions at the end of the season.

Just seen Ivan Toney get a penalty for fouling the defender. Bournemouth fans probably think that’s corruption but it’s not, it’s just bad officials making bad decisions.

That linesman and ref today at Old Trafford panicked and didn’t take their time and take into account what happened properly and were just taken away with the emotions of the occasion and the United players surrounding them because they are weak.

Officials don’t know the game. If they did, they’d know that Toney initiated that contact and they’d know that Rashford’s actions caused Ederson to be where he was looking right at Rashford and not seeing Fernandes.

I think both codes of rugby are currently better sports than football because of it.

In both codes of rugby teams are penalised regularly for infringements that in football are just accepted as ‘part of the game’, that in reality are ruining the game.

In both codes of rugby there is accountability and punishment for delaying the game, play just continues when someone is rolling around pretending to be injured (or when they’re injured, because when have you ever seen a rugby player pretending to be injured?), only captains can speak to the officials, if teams ever surrounded the ref they’d have men sent to the Sin Bin…

In both codes of rugby the officials have far more control over the game. In both sports where mental cases are trying to break the opposition in half, players call the referee ‘Sir’ and have respect.

In both codes of rugby the officials have a better understanding of the game they’re officiating and know the laws of the game much better.

In football there needs to be more made of the ineptness of the officials and a demand for it to be improved upon.

They ARE inept, but I think that's by DESIGN.

What better way to hide corruption in pain sight than convincing folk they are incompetent?
 
Corruption in all it's glory today greeted by banners, singing and the media. I started this thread 2 year's ago after a foul was given to united. Two years down the line ain't it funny how the same team plus livarpool are getting these decisions in major games. I know really its not funny just predictable. In a close game today it was always going to go against us. Now as well as helping the red tops we have players fouling our players regularly with impunity. Corrupt two years ago still corrupt today.

But what have they got to gain by Brentford going above Liverpool in the table?

Surely - as so many on here have been saying for so long that Liverpool are favoured by corruption - the opposite would have happened in that penalty situation in the first half?

There is making it obvious, and their is MAKING IT TOO OBVIOUS.

Liverpool were bobbins today by all accounts.

Our game was MUCH closer, despite us being on top for most of the second half.

Yeah but when you've got some ex ref saying its a goal.
It makes it all OK.

Ooooh, public statements. I bet that will really hurt them.

What happens instead is we are dealt with touchline bans for Pep and our next few games being officiated to "prove a point"
