Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Not having a pop at you but if people don't want to sing what the singing section are singing, sing something else.

It doesn't really matter if there's 3/4 songs & the easy City City going on at the same time, it's all noise. SS3 won't be able to hear 109/111 or 115/118 etc but we do our own thing, sometimes good sometimes piss poor.

If half a dozen fans in each block chant an easy one there's every chance others will join in. At least I'd like to think that would happen but, from the apathy of fans standing up as slowly as possible for the stand up for the champions chant I think it could be a lost cause.
No offence taken mate but i agree with your point it doesn't work like that. It's crowd psychology. People will sing if those around them are singing, which is why you can see songs (and this applies to Stand Up for The Champions) spread. At the Etihad in routine games the crowd not at the south end of the stadium take their lead from the more vocal areas.

haven't heard "you've had your day out, now fuck off home" chant for a while. Would be an obvious riposte to those boring cockney wankers singing "is this a library", "your support.." etc. We just seem to stand / sit like mutes when those predicatable songs get rolled out. Give them something back, where's the quick banter gone - the repertoire has become a bit stale...

I bet you anything you want that the first chant after the whistle goes is "Follow follow Follow". The rest of the ground won't join in, Spurs will drown it out with a proper anthem about their club and that will set the scene in the stands unless something extremely dramatic happens.
Exactly what happened…

Pep was spot on. But on the flip side maybe he needs to have a word with whoever sets the ticket prices. A lot of 'proper' fans cant afford 60 odd quid. Lots of tourists can. Doesn't make for a great atmosphere
In my experience the tourists make plenty of noise if the rest of the stadium does. The recent champions league games have shown this.

Thought the atmosphere followed the pattern of the game, average start, which turned to boos at 0-2, the players gave more & the fans responded 3-2, the game coasted and the fans started to settle, until Mahrez wrapped it up. Fair doos to the family stand who made a racket at times, and scenes in the south stand reminiscent of an away game

Pep having a go at our support Going at the fans isn't it should speak to the ones who's dotted coparate sections all around the stadium ticket prices for a dad and son would have been more than 100 pounds for this game. home support is shit but the club is as much too blame than the fans. Most pepole at the Club don't care about supports anyway they just want the day trippers filling the club shop

Well, this^ is exactly what happened…

I posted earlier this week that we needed our big shouty City chants from the off to get the stadium going and, like you said would happen, we didn’t bloody get it.

Instead we got some mumbling and murmuring along to some clapping from SSL1, that nobody around the stadium could really make out. I think ‘follow follow follow’ might have been sung three times in the first six minutes but I couldn’t quite tell and nobody in the rest of the ground joined in, and then Spurs belted out ‘oh when the Spuuuurs’ loud and clear.

All first half it was just bobbins murmuring chants along to claps. NOBODY CAN FUCKING HEAR YOU AROUND THE STADIUM, LADS. Just pack it in now! I feel like you’re doing it on purpose to piss us off around the ground.

It took two City comeback goals for the fucking Family Stand of all places to belt out ‘CIIITY CIIITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD’ for the first big shouty City chant to be heard for the first time in the game… and guess fucking what? All the ground joined in!

At least Pep’s also called it out now!

The ones that booed at halftime are wankers, plain and simple. we were all very very frustrated but we are not a bunch of entitled twats that boo at first sign of things not going our way, we are one of the few fanbase that don't do that, or at least we were, until now, you've given us that reputation now and that'll stick. Dick heads every single one of you that booed.

We were just as shit as the team first half but a midweek game after losing the derby, hadn't won a league home game since bonfire night and were 2 down by halftime having seen us play exactly the same way as all the other recently dropped points is not going to generate a good noise anywhere, we should be better but it's excusable. Fans definitely played their part once we got one back though to really encourage the team to continue to play with intensity and get at spurs. Players acknowledged it at the end. We need a good start on the pitch and a loud noise off it against Wolves. No excuses.

I agree. Yes it’s up to the fans, but the club have done everything possible to create a shit home atmosphere.

Pricing out our fans being one of the main reasons. It would be great if pep knew that

Agree with what Pep has just said. Basically our away fans are awesome, at home we are dull.
Our singing section haven't got a fucking clue how to create an atmosphere at the Etihad and for the Etihad. They’ve got no idea that they’re the front man that the rest of the ground look to and wait for to join in with songs.

We have a great catalogue of both home chants and away chants that aren’t the same kind of chants. But the singing section only sing the away style chants at home.

We’ve got to get the big shouty City chants going to raise the atmosphere at home but they are just not there at all from the singing section. All they’re interested in is those clap along chants that from around the rest of the stadium people are straining their ears wondering ‘what are they singing’? But when the big shouty City chants get going you can hear them and can join in.
