No City pundits again.
Don’t necessarily think that Pep rates Akanji as a better defender. He may be trying to ease him back in slowly after a pretty bad injury. Lots of games still to go in PL and CL and I think we will see more of him in the 2nd half of this season. When you look at the season so far, I actually think that Ake has been our most reliable and consistent defender. It appears Pep rates Akanji as a better defender than either Dias or Laporte , i know they have had injury issues but both of them have been training for a while , how do they get match fit if they dont get any game time ?
Akanji is decent dont get me wrong but he isnt at Dias or Laporte levels , we need Dias and Laporte for their leadership , i dont see Akanji reading the riot act when we are under pressure , he is too quiet and isnt a leader like the other two.
Apart from Akanji's selection that is a strong side , Ake will have a busy night against Saka , but i think we have the edge in midfield with a consistent Rico stepping in to help Rodri , looking forward to this
They'll all be in the match day thread. No City pundits again.
Tbf laporte and dias had surgery last summer and just getting back .It appears Pep rates Akanji as a better defender than either Dias or Laporte , i know they have had injury issues but both of them have been training for a while , how do they get match fit if they dont get any game time ?

yep hope we smash them and give them what they deserve and put some doubts in their minds.Hopefully plus we'll have some.psychological edge with a win
I think we always try to be honest. Just don't think that the formation we are trying to play is really bringing out the best in our players. No idea how this will go, depends if we turn up/ try
That logic doesn't work for Laporte, though. He's been healthy and playing well... It seems clear something has happened.Don’t necessarily think that Pep rates Akanji as a better defender.
