It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

He was in the Juplier Pro Team of the Season and was Anderlecht's player of the season. You're talking about a transfer to Milan like it means anything when Gomez got a transfer to CITY.
I know it's tough to properly compare club teams across multiple European leagues, but according to ESPN 538 (https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/global-club-rankings/)
Fulham is currently ranked as the 65th club in the world.
Anderlecht is currently 178th

I'm just going to have to disagree with you that being in the team of the season for the Belgian league is all that impressive.
Pep and the board saw something in him though, so hopefully he comes good.
I was excited for his second half of the season, because I thought a month off from playing and just training would help get him caught up to speed, but then he had one of the worst performances I've seen in awhile vs Southampton from a City player.

I think we seem more prepared to get it right in the summer rather than panic buy in January, if that means we win less or even nothing this season then so be it, I can live with that.
Hopefully better signings come in for next season
They just need a decent manager now.
Lol ! Potter won't be there next season regardless of the talent at his disposal ,he looks lost .

Why not sign Porro and a left-back. That’s us covered for full-backs. If Porro doesn’t work it’s an easy sell in the summer.

I reckon they’ve signed them all on 20 year contracts.

They might have new owners but they seem to have adopted Abramovich’s scatter gun approach to transfers.
They have cleverly exploited the new owner rule on FFP and also the Russian invasion of Ukraine allowing them to write off nearly £2bn in ‘loans’
If the latter wasn’t “disguised owner investment” I don’t know what is

Don’t think we’ll bring anyone in, it’s not how we do things. Ake and Laporte will fill the role until the summer. Stones is injured right now but we’re blessed with 5 brilliant CBs. Fortunately 2 of them can do a job as LB.
Needs sorting in the summer but for now we’ll find a way

No. We need a replacement. We didn’t replace Zinchenko. Which already left us short. We need Ake and another left-back. It also leaves us more predictable as a team - no attacking threat from fullbacks. I totally agree with the decision to get rid of Cancelo - but you have to agree he added a different dimension to our attack and offered unpredictability with his outside foot crosses. We need another fullback who can attack for me and now.

It’s needed sorting for the last five summers tbf

Anderlecht is lower mid table in Belgium. Fulham are 7th in the best league in the world. If a fair one was to be done it would be Genk vs Burnley. Genk are 59 and Burnley are 127. Belgium's league has quality throughout, shown by how many top talents come from Belgium. It's pretty impressive to me.

We need a new LB agreed. Regardless of Cancelo staying or going, Ake is probably our starting LB anyway. Laporte has and can do a “job” there. I just don’t see us doing anything when we have 2 who can play there. It’s way above my skill set but it could allow Foden/Grealish to cheat a bit when it comes to defensive duties.
New (world class LB is needed) just don’t think we’ll see any kind of LB in the next 36hrs

i'm not actually sure we've been playing with fullbacks for a while , ake and stones with akanji in the middle ,rico moving inside , so on that thought im sure we wont be buying a replacement for cancelo.

someone asked what had cancelo say in the tunnel, would someone please answer because i haven't got a clue either

For about the 15th time this afternoon, Mattyb posted it a week ago
There have also been rumours knocking about for a couple of weeks of Foden and Cancelo having a major fallout after an incident in training
There’s a forum search function literally at the top of the page (magnifying glass icon)

A, ahem, reliable source reckons he had a meltdown and demanded his agent get him 'the fuck out of here'. As far as I can tell though, the media haven't run with the story.

I don't know. If only there was some way of searching for it, by user name, if neccessary.

Tell you what tho: Getting rid of Cancelo is pretty good for PR/Politics, given what's happened at Juventus.

Is Porro a very bad player, or why don't we buy him back? What is the buy back price for us? 10 million?
