PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

A couple of questions...

IF they had something on us from 2009 ( or slightly more recently even), then why have they waited a decade for this?

Has any new 'evidence' miraculously appeared?

If not and they've had evidence of our wrongdoing for a long time, wouldn't they be duty bound to do something about it at the time rather than just carry on as if nothing was going on? Firstly to protect other clubs and secondly so we could address anything we were doing wrong and correct ourselves?

I don't understand this either.

As an aside, it’s nice to know that the PL will be sanctioning 2 clubs for yearly and repeatedly breaking the same PL rule.

It’s not as though the evidence for this rule break was hard to find, it was literally in plain sight.

I think immediate relegation, points deduction, rescinding of all trophies ever won, breaking up of the clubs and the demolition of Old Trafford and Anfield are apt, appropriate and measured responses to the vicious and pre-meditated PL rule breaking of not having a TV /VAR screen available for match going fans to see.

I can't help but agree... but, when has the current regime ever acted in a (understandably) aggressive manner towards any of this kind of bollocks? Answer... never... they're still acting like they don't want to rock the boat.

I wonder what would actions the club would take now if there was an illegal action against us in the same vein as the stealing of our scouting data by the candle waving blameless ones. Sadly I feel it wouldn't be too different to what happened last time - when we should have ensured the next league season that shower of shite started was in the Northern Counties.
No doubt we'll also be welcoming, fine dining and comfy seat accommodating all the snidey, backstabbing, undermining press too on Sunday. - If ever there was a match for refusing entry and issuing bans!! But we won't.

It's never boring being a City fan : )
I've no clue what the outcome will be after all this.
My faith in a fair hearing from an 'independent panel' is somewhat lacking.
We've never been treated fairly since the takeover.
I will say the timing of this along with the postponement of the white paper fucking stinks.
Add to that these charges have all come off the back of hacked doctored emails.
It seems to me the premier league, driven by the hateful 8 have decided to show the government that they can keep their house in order and have chosen us as their example.
Whether that's a wise move time will tell.
It'll be a fun few years no doubt.
Them and us as it's always been.
I'll be here rain or shine.
"We shall fight them on the Brighton beaches
We shall fight them in away grounds
We shall fight them in the docks
We shall fight them in the swamp
We shall never surrender!"

Will be honest, this has come totally out of the blue and I am a little worried. The club statement instills some confidence, but to counter that what chance do we have of a fair hearing when an Arsenal fan is chairing the proceedings. We all know the PL is bent and will do anything to help the Rags and the Dippers. At least the club will have the best lawyers to fight this, but nevertheless worrying times.

Be careful Saddleworth these two are chums and will report you if you call them out.
No, I’ve been on and off Bluemoon since 2004 and got thread banned/banned for far less than the abuse you was posting before. Level playing field is why I reported you, yet you’re still here so that playing field is far from level. I don’t know that poster, nor seen them post before today. I just didn’t like everyone ganging up on them for saying IF we was guilty. That’s why I asked if there was previous because the numerous people who jumped on them, for a normal post was quite shocking. I’m sure I’ll be a rag as well now for calling out bullying

They are using us to show to the government that the league doesn't need an 'independent regulator.' It's just coincidental that on the same day they brought these charges the government has shelved its report until a later date.
