PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Completely off topic but does anyone know if the ladies game is being shown on anything?

The SPL clubs participated in a vote to throw Rangers out of the premier league. When that was achieved the lower leagues then voted to have us relegated to the bottom tier of Scottish football. If you are actually denying this happened, then you are not worth bothering with.

Here. Source - BBC news.

"Rangers will not play in the Scottish Premier League this season.

SPL chairmen met at Hampden to vote on the new club's application to replace the old Rangers in the top flight.
BBC Scotland has learned that 10 of the 12 clubs were in opposition, with Kilmarnock abstaining and Rangers voting in favour.
The re-formed Ibrox club will now apply to play in the Scottish Football League but it is not clear which division they will enter."

You're going on block now, purely because you can't stop yourself from chatting shit even on a thread such as this. I'd recommend you stop dragging City's name into a situation which is absolutely nothing like the same. You know what happened, don't pull the wool over everyone else's eyes. Enjoy your night.

If the club was punished, fans should sue the league for not protecting them since day 1.

The league allowed Abu Dhabi to purchase the club, and then they changed the rule of the game with their financial unfair play rule

If there was any suspicious dealing, that should have been resolved after releasing their 1st financial statements.

Checks and investigations should be addressed and resolved in summer before the beginning of new season

The Premier league lack of action at the right time has cost fans money & time.

I think they announced their investigation at the same time(the investigation lasted 4-5years). The reason both UEFA and PL were able to launch one was that the email leaks were of public interest. They need a valid reason to launch an investigation. They had one with the hacking scandal and maybe with the failing FFP and the Stanley Park business. They didn't and they wouldn't no matter what excuse they've found to justify it. They would never go after the big sly 3.

To quote the scousers and Carragher: "Why would they be worried about that, let them have unlimited access to the clubs accounts, confidential data, emails and such and see what else they can find(fishing expedition). I yer innocent you shouldn't be worried. ;)" Isn't that one of the most stupid and naive arguments they trot out btw?
Because we all know that Scousers are keen advocates of due process, law and order and authority by their very nature.

Why did this Portuguese guy, pick us to hack, do you think. Was he asked too?
The footy leaks cache was one of the biggest hacks of all time with at least 70 million documents stolen. Rui Pinto was orignally going after Benfica and Sporting Lisbon. The documents include lots of damaging allegations against Spanish Clubs. It included the Ronaldo rape allegations and FFP breaches by PSG for starters
The best question for me is why did the English media use it to launch a withchunt against City based on 5/6 emails when there were so many other great stories to run. There are still millions of documents which have never been published. Perhaps because other clubs paid up after the blackmail demands. City were probably collateral damage.
Pinto claims he got the idea from chatting to his pals in a pub in Porto. That was part of his absurd evidence.
Meanwhile Pinto is waiting for the court verdict in April which could send him to jail for a long time. The court case of course has been ignored by the English media.

As others have said this is much bigger because they are saying we committed financial fraud for nine years, as PR said that’s huge!
If they decide we are fraudsters then I am sure that’s where we go nuclear out of necessity. Some who know better than me say legal action is not an option but to be found guilty of fraud over such a period is off the scale. They have entered uncharted waters and could be it blows up in their faces. Let’s hope so.
I'm getting that feeling too. The way they've gone about it, the amount of charges, it does seem ott, almost like they're trying to achieve something else instead.

But we'll see. Someone is going to lose big.

We got thrown down to the bottom tier due mainly to lobbying from Celtic. This was for using a tax avoidance scheme and nothing to do with going bust. It was what became the ‘ sporting integrity ‘ campaign to deliberately damage us to the maximum.
At the time the club was in administration with nobody at the helm and thus vulnerable to attacks and demands from those who seeked to gain from it. We had no say or influence whatsoever in the decision to demote us.
City are in a much stronger position with powerful backers employing the best legal minds to fight the case, so it will be far more difficult for the ‘ red shirt ‘ trio to have their pound of flesh the way Celtic had with us.
That's a slightly biased view of Ranger's previous woes.
You were placed into administration and then liquidated because the tax avoidance scheme was illegal and you owed HMRC a heck of a lot of money, it was effectively HMRC who forced RFC into liquidation as they rejected (as did the vast majority of creditors) the CVA proposed by the club. As regards your claims about Celtic (who I have little time for either),that is not wholly correct either as it was the SPL league clubs who refused by 10-1 votes to allow you back into the SPL, not just Celtic.
You are certainly right about City though.

As I understand it though, and I may stand corrected, is that it's Civil fraud which is different from criminal fraud.

I've honestly no idea where it goes from here. The club have released their statement and I trust them, but the way it's all set up feels like right and wrong doesn't really matter here. If we could have went to CAS I'd have felt much more confident.

I think City should be vocally questioning the finances of some of the other teams. Chelsea under Abramovich and all that Russian oil money stinks, Newcastle and their mew owners, the way the Glazers took over the rags, the behavious of Liverpool fans (and their manager). Come on city, lets sling sone muck back
What I take from that video is that Carragher is even thicker than I thought he was.
I’ve not watched it but I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I’m avoiding all media, and taken the advice of people on here to smile and say “let’s see what happens” to all the no nowts that try and get a reaction.

There’s been enough positive steps to keep me relatively calm;

- Forthright statement from club.
- Inside snippets from Ric, TH, etc.
- the fact that they fucked up their release of information and the similarities with Uefa’s ‘efforts’ and ‘strategy’
- the fact we appear (because we are) prepared with the announcement of top drawer KC’s.
- we have Khaldoon, nothing about him displays anything other than a man who knows what’s needed and how to navigate to that point.

Hopefully we get treated to a defiant as fuck Pep in his presser tomorrow ahead of a big atmosphere and performance on Sunday.

Fuck the PL, fuck the red shirts and a special fuck you to sly sports and the media at large.

This will be a slow burner so let’s concentrate on supporting the team, finding some consistent form and leaking some big signings over the next few months to keep the piss simmering nicely.

I love the idea that Mancini shouldn’t earn x amount for consultancy work when, here at home this happens.

Boris Johnson has registered an advance payment of nearly £2.5m for speaking events, in his latest declaration of outside earnings.
It brings the former prime minister's declared income since leaving office last September to almost £4.8m.
He has previously recorded nearly £1.8m in speaking fees since his departure.

I don’t think they’ll strip our titles. How can they. It will kick off a massive shitstorm.

However we may have to accept an asterisk * next to the title wins if we get found guilty. I could probably live with that as we’d still officially be champions.
Fuck that!

Exactly, we know it's a stitch up and who's behind it, but the club can't come out and say that, certainly not yet. Pep has alluded to it numerous times in his press conferences by referencing the eight/nine and the letter. The worry for us as fans is there is no real appeal here. If that had been the case with EUFA we would have been banned for two years.

Back when uefa punished us after we had submitted our accounts and they then moved the goalposts our chairman announced that we had no option but to take the pinch , it was a calculated move to punish us there's not a chance that our owners will take this lying down , the pl along with the cartel clubs have never accepted us and our successes have always been played down along with snide remarks with help.from their bias media (oil club , empty seats , inflated sponsorships ect ) you.dont have to look.far.for.obvious.bias , we win our first prem.title and pardew wins manager of the year for.keeping Newcastle up ? Pellegrini wins the title in his first season and they give it to Tony pulis ffs , Sergio wins the golden boot and doesn't even make team of the year ffs , all never happened when the rags were sweeping up , we have never been accepted and never will be , jealousy is such an ugly trait as my nan used to say
If we were languishing in 10th like Chelsea , or been out of the top four for a couple of seasons I’d say these charges would never have been made
