I just find it madness that they’re turning on one of their own clubs, that’s why I find this hard to believe. I know we shouldn’t rule out scenarios like this, as we all found out how corrupt UEFA were. I just find it baffling how one club can be the enemy not only to their rival clubs, but the organisation they play their trade in.

Make no mistake todays presser was a masterclass by Pep. FFP was conceived to prevent asset stripping using leveraged buy-outs. I'm old old enough to remember when Liverpool were owned by RBS. The 'old elite' didn't and don't like competition. They lobbied for rule changes to FFP to prevent challengers. City challenged them and they changed the rules. The European Super League is the latest incarnation of this idea. Protectionism not competition. At United the owners have bled them dry taking billions out. At City the owners have spent their own money investing in the club and in East Manchester. The PL is desperate to stop the second model. This is not about the good stewardship of the game. I was the same and watching it fairly regularly as I am interested in sports news. However that station is no longer a news station and has become a fan channel for the redshirts - I was getting angrier and angrier at it.

I've stopped watching, listening and reading anything like it. My mental health is much better for it and I advise any blue to do the same.

If full disclosure of the requested documents would have killed this, it would have died 4 years ago.

Over the last week I’ve become more and more confident that the outcome is the club will win because there’s no way the PL can have the evidence, but we’ll get pinged for not cooperating.

UEFA brought an awful case because Leterme and co were under massive pressure to do something to bolster FFP after fucking up the PSG case.

The PL has brought one in an attempt to stave off the regulator.

If stopping the Gov Regulate is the reason surely the charge progress will be forced to be seen to be fair one presumes? Otherwise it gives ammo to the Reg process.
Perhaps delay rather than stop is all they need.

I mean logically this has to be the case isnt it? City accounts are simply going to show x amount of money from the sponsors. Whether the sponsors themselves got the money from somewhere or not is simply a different route. Even the higher ups at city like Ferran and Txiki will not know the trial if Khaldoon arranged something with the Etihad (hypothetically). Why/how could they know?

As others have mentioned, if a whistleblower player/manager steps forward and shows his back account receiving money from UAE related account every year (and he has to have some kind of evidence that this money is coming from city's owners) it seems impossible.
