Barc clown club will struggle as they are out of Europe. They are in no position to sign anyone. Leave our players who have big contracts. Barca cant afford Alvarez

Would him wanting regular first team football surprise anybody? He is more than capable of playing for a top Champs league club and be the main man.

At his age and with his appetite I wouldn't be shocked if there is substance here.

It makes no sense to leave City because you are behind Haaland, just to go to be behind Lewandoski in Barcelona.

I doubt there's any substance to this.
Next summer, why would it not make sense to position yourself as a 35 year old’s understudy instead of a 23 year old’s? When will he overtake Haaland in the pecking order here? The answer is never. Literally never. When will he overtake Lewandowski? When age does it’s thing.

He’ll never be first choice striker whilst Haaland is here, we are unlikely to play regularly with 2 up top whilst Pep is here, and no guarantee to play 2 up top after he leaves either, and we’re in the market for a winger in the summer which reduces the chances of him playing there too. So what gives? I hope he extends, but I don’t for the life of me see how he plays regularly for us any time soon, barring a serious Haaland injury.

Because he doesn't want to go be anyone's understudy. If you are leaving a great team like City, you better go to start somewhere, not to be a backup on a lesser team. Specially considering the lack of true great strikers in current football. Off the top of my head: Chelsea, United, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Bayern. All big clubs where he would instantly become a starter.

Its about time our bosses put a stop to Barca unsettling our players, first Bernie then Ilky, now Jules. It must play on their minds, we should tell them to cut it out or else

Needs a run now, absolutely no point starting him at Bournemouth and not playing him in our next two games which could quite easily happen knowing Pep. Still raw around the edges but highly promising this lad

I think it’s pretty clear he needs to see game time to trust his career path here. It’s easy to tell him to be patient but as long as Haaland is here, he needs to see that he will get the minutes he needs. Whether that’s rotation or playing alongside him (I’d hope the latter personally).

Also I wouldn’t underestimate the fact he’s said Messi is his idol and emulating him at Barcelona is will be very, very enticing to a young Argentinian footballer. I just hope we can tie him down.

He spent time at Real Madrid I see them as the more likely destination than the chancers at Barcelona. As for more game time, he was a better when he was brought on vs Spurs at home but the Southampton performance wasn't great (although the whole team was wank that night)

It will be interesting to see if Pep uses Alvarez with Haaland together more. I think against sides that sit deeper we probably will with Rico inverting and having wingers like Jack and Phil/Mahrez who can drop deeper when playing out from the back to give more control. The CB's seeemed to be breaking the lines down the middle more with Gundo and Alvarez in the attacking 8 roles in the midfield box formation. Then Alvarez attacking as a 2nd striker in the box in the final 3rd. It does come with an expense as someone like KDB who would have to sit out though. Against better sides Pep will probably play another midfielder instead.
