North Stand Construction Discussion

If planning is passed and we know we will have some who don’t want the stand extension with hotel! They say 3 years to build it! Is this slow I know nothing about how long something should take!

I was wondering if moving the away fans and their coach park to the NS would be the plan. Is there enough room to satisfy requirements if they're in tier 1 and perhaps up the corners if needed. At least it would keep them below City fans.

Away fans will be where they are now, at the south end. We wouldn't want them near our shiny new city square and enlarged home end tier.

Construction starts late this year (groundworks spring/summer this year) and finishes summer 2025 for the seating and summer 2026 for the overall development. South Stand construction started early 2014 and finished summer 2015.

see all the insecure lot are passing comments about empty seats lol
It does make me laugh this. People are so thick. The question they need to ask themselves is 'Do I think City would really spend all this money and invest all the time in building it, if A) they weren't going to see a financial return? and B) Genuinely believe those seats will lie empty all year.

Can't see it myself, doubt they will move very far if anywhere. Only place I could see is around the corner into East stand.

Anyone got any naming ideas yet? I feel as though we need to pay tribute to one of our greatest icons, and I'm sure many would love to see "The Moonchester Stand and Hotel" lighting up the night sky...

The fucking council really need to improve the public transport offering.
Definitely this. Our stadium is closer to the town hall than the rags’ monstrosity but they have so much better connectivity. I guess as the city continues its eastwards expansion (lots of plans for places like Collyhurst, Miles Platting etc) the better public transport will follow.

The CGIs look great, but they were always going to look great as the club were never going to do something shit given the amount of thought that has clearly gone into it, particularly with the opportunities presented by the Arena being next door.

It makes me wonder what a completely new stadium would look now if we were to design one from the ground up. Probably radically different from how it would have done 10-15 years ago when the takeover occurred.

Hopefully the consultation will have a good response, particularly in relation to transport. It really must be sorted out now and we have to apply maximum pressure on the Council, as without wishing to sound miserable it would be a huge shame if they can’t engineer a significant improvement to match what the club is doing with the stadium.

Let's hope it's an opportunity for the club to find a more sensible way to accommodate away fans too.
Evacuate them from SS3 (&SS2) and bend em round the lower corner of SS1 &ES1 similar to the Dubai Emirates.

Relocate the 'singing section' in ES1 to SS3 where the views are better.

SS3 becomes exclusively a second home end.

The away fans can still be corralled for their access/egress and coaches.

It can be achieved at relatively low cost and would complete the reorganisation of the ground to the advantage of fans, safety and atmosphere.

Where there's a will there's a way !!
