If thats true, then fair enough.no he's sneaked back on under a new name after his last racist and manc hating incarnation.
I'm not being encouraged to do fuck all by the likes of that

It's about City recognising the problem doesn't start or end at the Etihad.
Fans leave early because of the issues getting to and from the stadium, not the opportunity to stick around it at their leisure.
I blame City for a lot of it, they have done very little to establish what the issues are because they see it like you seemingly do, it's not their problem?
But it is a problem for them, or they wouldn't be trying token gestures to address, but always with the mindset of how they can monetise fans further.
City don't need to care that someone from Sale or Alty can't get a direct tram to the stadium or it takes more than an hour to drive eight miles for any evening game, with no parking places to speak of.
What it does do, however, is impact the fans' mindset how they attend and for how long.
My criticism of City is the huge influence they have over the council and have done little to improve the relief roads or tram timetables, let alone offering solutions.
City don't want a transport solution that gets us to and away from games quickly.
They want us there early, they want us there late. We could build another tram stop on the south side of the ground, if we really wanted to address ten thousand people leaving on 85 minutes.
When you add in the latest plans for further zero car parking, it is clear the club and council are in total alignment.
I can tell you the players are shit, showered and changed and sat in the same traffic as the rest of us before many others are back on a tram.
Cars are parked fifty yards away so they make a sharp exit.
There will be plenty of occasions when there will be 60k football supporters and another 15-20k rocking up for an event at the Arena on the same day, which will have the tills ringing, but absolute mayhem in the surroundings.
I'm not sure Soriano will give it too much thought when he's still holding court in the Chairman's Lounge two hours after the game and filling his face with Gambas.
Does the Dubai Metro stop near the South Stand?Etihad Rail are the largest, and fastest expanding, operator in the GCC.
Give the Metro franchise to them...Etihad Airways Etihad Rail, Etihad Hotel, Etihad Campus, Etihad Stadium.
I also believe that the Dubai Metro has been voted the best in the world.
There may be a solution here !!
Its a brilliant system run mainly on an elevated monorail.Does the Dubai Metro stop near the South Stand?
Should’ve turned the engine on, it might have helped !!I have very distinct memories as a child of sitting on a school playground with the engine turned off listening to GMR for an hour before we even thought about getting home.
Pretty sure the council, police and club have previously acted in concert to oppose new independent pub openings near the groundMatch day plus concerts should keep a well run pub going near the ground.
I lived in Anfield of all places for six months and it seemed to work there. I’d obviously keep away when they were at home.
Alleyway behind the Kippax car park, the one with the angry dog that used to go nuts when passing fans kicked the gate.Anyone remember the back yards behind the North Stand where you could park your bicycle for 50p whilst at the match? No moaning about trams in those days.
Most of them would end up in the canal, like the MoBikesIf only the Council would extend Lime's licence to operate in Manchester and not just Salford..

The images so far aren't brilliant. Even the CGI's are fairly vague. No CGI of the stand internally for example and nothing from ground level.
It's a shame to be losing the stadium aesthetic but you'd still get that from the south, east and west when looking at the ground. And it will be one hell of an imposing stand/block as you come down from the north towards it. They've had to create something that also functions on non-footballing days, where you don't feel like you're just hanging around an empty football ground. They've balanced that pretty well considering they're very restricted in terms of what they can do and the amount of space. Hopefully more CGI's are revealed soon alongside the planning application and they'll convince more people. It would have been nice to just have this monster North Stand in front of you as you walk up, without being hidden behind the other elements. But I still think it will look epic.
Transport wise - it's all been said. It needs sorting but it's not easy. This country doesn't like to think strategically, and when it does it's usually fucked up. City can only offer money. We can't6 do a privatised solution. What should have happened, alongside the collar site masterplan (which could have simply modelled different uses and transport impacts), is a strategic transport solution in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester, Highways, National Rail and the City Council to work out what could be done and then cost some schemes and look for developments to help fund them.
Instead it's all piecemeal. But I dread to think what it will be like when a match starts/finishes around a concert time. It's going to be carnage.
I assumed that would be the case as I expect they will want to build in the same way as the South behind the existing stand without closing it. Only difference will be it will join the top of it insted on coming in above the second tier. One thing I didn't notice on first viewing - it seems the 2nd tier will remain as it currently is. Look how the second tier bends around the corner on this picture.
It looks like Upper tier is essentially being stuck on top of the existing 2nd tier.

Fook that, Sheiky should stick them on every seat, never mind toss me off scarves. If only the Council would extend Lime's licence to operate in Manchester and not just Salford..

Unless you live in Clayton. Why do we all have to walk into town?
It isn’t. I travel all over and have friends of many different backgrounds. If thats true, then fair enough.
close. The correct answer isSpeechless?
Correct, parking in the school opposite the Sherwood was a twat getting away. Getting to Wilmslow rd took 30 mins, then another 30 mins to town, then 30 further mins to Chadderton. Now, from Orange car park to home, 30 mins total. There were a lot more options at Maine Road (The Parkway and Wilmslow Road) but if you parked in one of the side streets, car parks or schools you were fucked....unless you left early
