Why wouldn’t I be? I’m more used to disappointment than celebration, so nothing new for me. I have no expectation…every win is a bonus.
For pity’s sake. You support the third most decorated side in England, its aristocracy, with 4 FA Cups in the last decade alone. Woe, the hardship…

Then let's hope he is here if the wheels fall off the Arsenal bogey so we can all take the piss out of him....
Oh absolutely but to be fair to him, he generally doesn’t hide when they lose which more than I can say when City lose. I can’t face the football forum for a good 3 or 4 days after a defeat.

I feel the same way. Win or lose though, the last place I would ever think about heading to is a forum for another team

That seems pretty narcissistic and a little odd to me

Why 60 minutes ? As paying customers and rules of football the match is 90 minutes long.
At 60 minutes fans are still done out of 30 minutes football !
Because the game has never seen an after time in play of more than around 56 minutes in its history. 60 minutes would guarantee 45 minutes more football than is currently watched. Some teams are averaging under 50 minutes. You’d still be sat there for the same amount of time but it takes time wasting out of the equation.

No doubt if they hadn’t scored that winning goal, the media would be installing the Rags as title favourites.

I thought opposition fans were welcome in here as long as respect shown. That works both ways for me.
I don’t see anything that Jack Hackett, Newman or Gunner Ger have done to contravene that.
Much rather be jousting with Arsenal than those two festering sores in Red.
Let’s not turn into carbon copies of those two clubs

Looking at the stats, a City 3pm kick off would be absolutely regulation, and finish at 4.45 on the dot.
Villa would still be playing after 5pm.

Even with the timer, do you think people would accept that kind of difference?

It's also mostly not down to time wasting. City have the ball in play more because we're constantly stringing a couple of dozen passes together where the opposition can't get close to them. Lots of teams play more direct, or balance each other out, so can't hang on to the ball as much. You get more tackling, more fouls, and the ball going out of play much more often.

No, it’s down to time wasting. There aren’t more fouls in non-City games.

And there are already games that go on ten minutes longer than others. I don’t think anyone at The Etihad gives a fuck if they finished ten minutes before or after at Selhurst Park tbh mate.

Nothing winds me up more than keepers taking a minute over a goal kick or full backs wandering up to take a throw in when there’s a winger holding the ball. We all know what’s coming and why they’re doing what they’re doing.

No we’re not. We have class unlike the other 2 red shirt clubs I could name.
I’ve nothing against arsenal and if we are to not win the league then I would rather it be the Arse than the other two, but I think this “Arsenal have got class” thing is a bit weird. They’ve no more class than any other of the “top” teams.
Edit: no one could have less class than the dippers or the rags so by definition you have more class than them I’ll give you that, but no one else ;)

Same here. Jack gives a good as he gets but so what, its a forum and we shouldn't act like spoilt fuckers. Arsenal are where they are right now because they've been the best up to this point. Can they carry on when it comes to squeaky bum time ? We'll see.

People need to stop banging on about the Brentford goal like Arsenal deserved anything more than a draw in that game. Brentford had a goal chalked off earlier that should’ve stood. It was a fair result.

Not to mention that we were cheated out of games at Old Trafford and Anfield.
In this context it's completely valid. People crying that the refs are trying to get arsenal to win the league and it's a big conspiracy when they've had blatant calls against them as well.

Fact of the matter is Bournemouth got what they deserved yesterday, we are constantly asking refs to get wise to time wasters. It went against us yesterday but it wasn't a bad call from the ref

There are more fouls in non-City games.

Last season City averaged 17 fouls in a game (for + against), while a Villa game averaged 24. It's been the same most of the time under Pep.

We're also usually lowest for thrown-ins per match, with a similar spread.

We have less corners in our games (because we concede so few).

All these add up - the teams who play possession football tend to have the games with most time in play.

ps. It's also 18 minutes longer by my calculations - and that's not occasionally - that's every week, one team finishing their games 18 minutes earlier than another. Most fans will look at that and think something is wrong.

Lmao some of the comments in this thread. This is starting to turn into "Look at me, my club is the bigger victim" we're starting to sound like the two red clubs up north.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what we do as Europa starts again. We're already getting some injuries so I can see us running out of steam if games are coming fast and hard.

Will be interesting to see how Arteta manages our squad from here.

Can you shows me your source for the 18 minute every week thing?

And you’re right something is wrong, those fans aren’t seeing anywhere near as much football as they should be. That’s why standardisation of ball in play makes sense. Plus once teams work out they gain nothing from taking a minute for a goal kick, they’ll not bother. Pope is one of the worst for it normally and he managed to get his arse in gear and kick quickly for the majority of our game yesterday as it didn’t benefit him not to. That’s the whole point of it.

Class my arse ,you deserted your club in droves when you went through the "crisis" of not qualifying for the champions league for a couple of seasons and suddenly decide to give it billy big bollocks because the fickle 10 thousand have returned , also remember when a certain striker decided to leave you so you all came up with the " classy" song of branding his mum a whore and dad a elephant washer ??

You might have class as an individual supporter of you’re club, but Arsenal we’re one of the main culprits in trying to get City kicked out of the Champions League, I’m not blaming you as such just saying you’re club has no class.
