He scores in bunches, has done all season; even if he goes the next 4/5 without one (unlikely), he still has moments like last night; I’ll be shocked if he fails to hit 38+ domestically but also adding the other 2/3 in other comps to break 50…..

A full quota of 19 games feels unlikely but a realistic 15+ and he’ll of smashed Clive Allen’s 49 and be nearer to 55, I mean 22 years of age in a team not even at its best to score those numbers is what we all thought and hoped, a generational talent and he plays for Man City….. dreamland for fans of a certain age who convinced themselves Lee Bradbury was the second coming (:

CL is the perfect stage for him. With the knock out format, our strong defence, strong possession game, he can be the extreme goalscorer to take us all the way. No real excuses here. Real are good but not like years gone. Same with Bayern. I'll not worry about the rest. This year seems our best chance so far.
We had our best chance in Porto.. There for the taking

It’s a tough one to take… Stood in the ground with a fantastic chance to lift the trophy and WE blew it
Not to be "that guy", but there always has to be a loser. It was heartbreaking to take considering a lot of us I'd imagine (including myself) thought we were going to win it. It was there for the taking, but I've always been adamant that it's a when and not an if in regards to us winning it.

Remember peps first season in the persistent grooming of players to play out, bravo, stones, clichy, kolorov, sagna, zabba et al, I can see parallels this season in what we are trying to do, we are just more experienced in grinding when needed, however, key upgrades in certain areas will see the method in the madness, key example was Ake playing in the channel for Haaland putting him through, we do this sporadically, currently, and it’s mostly ineffective; it will become a highly profitable weapon when we have the correct players churning it out!

People hated Rodri at first just because he was different to Fernandinho and they thought there was no way this team would work without a pacey DM. They were wrong. This is the same - can't handle change, especially when he's replacing a beloved ex-player.

Edit: Not saying you should watch this lol

It's a completely meaningless apology because he's already apologised once this season (end of August). After the bad few games against Spurs and United when he didn't score, Rory was back with that smug smile saying he was right all along and we've been made worse.

Being brutally honest, I think he makes us play "less beautifully". Purely in the sense of having one less false-9 creative player to ping amazing tiki taki moves that look great.

But OMFG does he make us more effective!

I think the business end of the PL and CL is where we really start to benefit from this guy.

Plus as fans it always felt good to see your player at the top of the goalscoring charts. To do this by breaking actual goalscoring records feels unreal.
