Ake said in a recent interview he still prefers to be seen as a CB. TBH as good as he is this season I am reluctant to offer him a new long term contract given his age and injury history. Rather just keep the current one and let's see how it goes in next year.

I think if we were to sign Gvardiol either him or Ake would start at LB depending on form and opposition

Pep reinventing football yet again.

With Jude and a winger, we won’t need 1. Plus Ake is doing a fantastic job so far. I would rather have a proper defender in that role as opposed to another fb/midfielder. Might limit the build up but Ake gives us stability and fight.

Doubtful......but clearly Pep doesn't believe they yet have the quality required.

Akanji was a superb signing and without him we would have had serious issues early season but he is nowhere near Laporte's level or any of our other CB's

Nowhere near the first team level, both should be out on loans next season to continue their education.

Depends who we buy and where from plus a few big wages of the books. You look at Chelsea’s 750€ spends last 12 months no one is on more than 100k a week.. if Bellingham comes he be on big wages anyone else I doubt they’ll be on big wages..
