I totally agree re voting reform but aren't we just in NFN territory with this one? Stomping ground of the Partridge after all.

I'm going to turn this right around. There are no Conservative councillors on Manchester City Council. Not one. So all the Tories in Manchester are completely unrepresented on the Council. How is this good for democracy?

In large swathes of this country, significant minorities have no representation at all, due to FPTP voting. It also distorts voting patterns, as it encourages you to vote against what you hate most, not for what you really want. It is, in short, a very bad system.

In large swathes of this country, significant minorities have no representation at all, due to FPTP voting. It also distorts voting patterns, as it encourages you to vote against what you hate most, not for what you really want. It is, in short, a very bad system.

There's nothing more pointless than a supporter of a party that doesn't believe in proportional representation (and actvely campaigned against it) being upset that we don't have proportional representation.

If you care, support a party that wants to change the voting system or joing an associate parliamentary group

Not sure there's any meaning to a poll where all the other candidates are unknown.

Besides, South Norfolk has voted conservative in every election since 1959, and like the graphic says in 2019 Truss got 70% of the vote to Labour's 18%.

For a diehard conservative constituency to double it's support for a nameless faceless labour candidate is pretty indicative of where the government is at.

so - probably the 2 biggest issues facin them.

1/ Stormont and the DUP intransigence - Sunak is off to meet Biden in NI and announces whilst he is there he will not be meeting any NI politicians

2/ Junior doctors strike - massive issue for the health of the nation. Barclay will give interviews to SKY and the BBC pointing out the potential damage being done yet refuses to negotiate with the BMA.

In what sense do people think these wankers are actually governing the country?
