North Stand Construction Discussion

This will be the best stand in the country when it is completed.


(As long as they move that hospitality area from the front)

If there was an issue involving empty seats being constantly visible in the North stand, it wasn’t on L2.

Nobody wanted anybody removed. It was just that the Family stand didn’t work from the empty seats perspective, especially during midweek night games.

We don’t know what the plans are for the family stand and NSL1 going forward.

Good shout. They definitely could be used for something rather than just being a flat roof. But it would need access.

St Michael’s office proposal including a roof top bar and space. Currently under construction.

You'll need a head for heights up there, it seems to be a really high walkway over and above the (high) rooftop walkway strung between the new tower pylons supporting the cablenet

I can't be the only one who thinks the hotel looks absolutely hideous.
It will look utterly dated and doesn't match the design of the stadium at all.

haha...don't worry you're not the only one.

Just come back from the Middle East for a work trip & my god some of the hotel architecture & designs over there put the top notch European hotels to shame. Breath taking stuff even if you're not staying in them, they look mighty impressive.

Mentioned it earlier in the thread surprised the club didn't allow a budding architect to splash out a bit on some alternative designs. Especially, lets be honest where this new development is all about generating extra revenue & new fans.

Behave now.. Iv watched this thread for months has have a good m8 who actually sits in them middle front few L2 seats and it was only 2/3 weeks ago that it came across as kids and those who couldn’t stand for 90 min wouldn’t be welcomed in that area . Sure it was even part of the 1894 and club questionnaire and overwhelmingly agreed “should the family stand be moved”

I’m all for a home safe standing end and get what you’re trying to achieve as I’m wanting to spend the next few years watching football as it should be “standing “ but please don’t use them who you really don’t care for as ammunition to fight the fight

My m8s is expecting to lose his seats but his reaction to reading your comment was the “cheeky fks , didn’t give a fk about us last week “
 
Be interesting to see what other blocks of south stand would be given to away supporters with the increase allocation

And very very last word from me - I think the way they've done this wouldn't prevent us from extending upwards/backwards on the sides further if we wanted to in the future!

This ' loads moneyness 'is a cheap shot .

The pandemic has changed values for many people,particularly the over 60s, who having lost 2.5 years of their lives, now want to enjoy new different and 'premium' experiences.

Airport lounges, extra leg room, 5* not 4*, Wagyu not Sirloin etc.

Some people have bigger or better cars than others or go out for Sunday lunch.....that doesn't warrant the sobriquet of "loadsa moneyness"

Each to their own eh !!

Feel free to repost those comments and the 1894 questionnaire.

There has been plenty of discussion about relocating the family stand, not forcing people and kids out of the family stand/north stand. Discussing it and actively wanting it to happen are 2 completely different things. Regardless of what we discuss on here, it is the club who will make the decisions, just like they will with the proposed hospitality section at the front of level 2.

It was me who mentioned the fans currently sitting on level 2 who may have to make way for the proposed hospitality section at the front of the new level 2. 'I was supporting them'. Again, that decision will be made by the club.

There's no need for the aggressive tone from you and your m8.

Yup...this is the sort of add-on customer experience facilities I thought the club would be thinking of including on the roof top claws.

Seems most recent commercial planning designs are making smarter use of rooftops & surprised City arn't on top of it.

There could be a hotel roof top bar/relax area on one claw & the other claw where the museum and shop is located could have a separate drinks/concession area on some partly covered roof top space for the transient patrons who arn't staying at the hotel. Access via a short stairwell or escalator or even ramp. May even help relieve some crowding from the City square bars/concession stands which I expect will be packed especially on match days.

The Sky bar would still retain its 'exclusivity' by access most likely gained via the VIP area & a pitch view which the other 'claw' areas can't provide.
