Why would Phillips know if City were talking to West Ham yesterday as TH states?

Players often talk about themselves but hardly ever know about the current state of negotiations regarding other players.

Doesn’t mean Rice will not leave for Arsenal but if TH says we are still talking to West Ham I don’t think I’d be asking him to check his sources.

Does including Phillips in a deal give us the means to blow any arsenal bid out of the water
I.e £75m plus Phillips is a 100m plus deal

Yes long story supported sheff wed since a nipper don't follow as much now because of owner. Followed city years ago love the football, love pep greatest coach of all time and to see them shit on manu is heaven and of course the rest is great. Been to city lots of times, had friends in hospitality so got in free to lots of matches. Actually retired now and live on a narrowboat, cruising around but still follow city

If things have developed then completely fair enough mate- i appreciate these situations can change. He just seemed convinced he’d be staying next season.

But the downside would be setting a higher bar in the market we still need to buy in. There is zero chance we share our negotiating strategy with a journalist to reveal to those who we will be negotiating with. Zero. We may have been interested in Rice but already walked away based on price or be be still in the mix but we would not be briefing journalists as both the selling club and the player will be clear about what’s on offer.

I didn’t say the club had shared that as its strategy. I said it was a journalists view and it made sense to me. Please don’t read things in to the post that have not been stated

I'm going to take a guess that one of those offers is Bayern? He was linked a couple days ago
 
Just saw the report that Chelsea will not pay the 80m for Caicedo from Brighton. I do think he'd be a good alternative to Rice. Can play in defense as in midfield. BUT there is probably a reason only Chelsea and the rags are sniffin.
