For me, Veiga would play further back than McAtee, which would mean they would not be competing for the same space.

My main concern about Veiga would be whether he could settle. Recently, we've had Garcia and Torres come from Spain and struggle to settle, so it might be something to consider.

I think McAtee would be coming back to play Palmer's role as cover on the wings, rather than as an 8.

Signing Veiga and Kovacic to replace Gundogan makes a lot of sense. Kovacic is the technician, Veiga gives you the goal threat.

Veiga isn't going to come straight in as a starting option IMO. I think Phil will play centrally a lot more next season regardless - unless we lose both Bernardo and Mahrez.

Part of me really wants to see Foden in the middle as I think that's where he's going to play for the long term... But I don't see many good winger options on the market, and Phil was incredible on the right this season...

It looks like Sergio Gomez is rated higher as an attacking midfielder for Spain u21s than this guy and even he isn't good enough to play his natural position for us.

Why spend £30m on a player worse then or at best equal to Palmer/Mcatee/Gomez?
