Wasn't it at the presentation of the PL trophy against Chelsea that Laporte was crying at the end? Surely there could be no clearer sign that he expects to leave? (And maybe doesn't particularly want to). I think he's a class player, incidentally. But we've never — in the history of the club — been so well stocked across the back. That's maybe his misfortune.

Yep a great player but clearly down the pecking order now,a shame but life goes on

The FFP Leipzig stuff for 30/6 was bs. Source was shite, it’s crazy how many have jumped on that as fact.
The classic line a few use “reported…” , but where was it reported : )

Laporte, Dias, Mendy, Walker, Cancelo, Stones, Ake?

We have spent a lot on defenders, but we haven't gone above 65m for any of them individually.

We won't go above 80m for Gvardiol I don't think.

I can see Leipzig push us for 90m at least which we definitely won't go to.

How come?

Because they will charge a kings ransom for him just like Napoli did with Koulibaly.

I just think we will spend a few months haggling over the fee and eventually we will walk away from the deal.

Hope I'm wrong, but I just think that's how we do things. We stick to a transfer strategy and won't overpay unless a player has a release clause and the club say they won't sell him for less than the release clause (such as Grealish).

You said "how come"

So I gave you my reason why I don't think this deal will happen quickly.

These types of deals never happen quickly. Especially ones where the selling club want a big amount for him and don't really want to sell him. Don't have any reason to sell him either.

Teams are colluding against us Not to buy our players for a fair fee. It’s the new takedown approach. We end up in transfer limbo.
