Interesting story in the BBC News this morning.

Apparently there are fears that Britain’s biggest water company Thames Water is in danger of collapse. It seems that in recent years the company has raised debt levels to somewhere in the region of £13billion. The report concluded that the Company’s operations have essentially been funded by debt whilst at the same time the shareholders have been helping themselves to excessive dividends.

Does this sound familiar?
This is why I think there is a fair chance United are fucked - as in fucked.

I also wonder about this takeover. How is a guy with 1.5 billion of net assets going to pay 6 billion for them? The only way to square that circle is through debt. Then they need a stadium rebuild/replacement, a new training ground and about 90% of a new team.

They really need Saudi Arabia, no one else has that much ££££££. Mind you, I suppose the 650 million fans could put in a tenner each.

The guy with 1.5bn of assets is just a frontman for QSI/QIA. It’s a state funded purchase.

Has anyone mentioned the Rags turning down two World Record bids for Alessia Russo in January only for her to walk away in a free transfer today.

Laughing stock of a Club.
They were in a title race and certainly needed to make sure they qualified for the CL. Why sell to a rival in January? It’s not hard OntarioBlue.

Agree with you re. your 'wonderings'.

Despite the valiant efforts of the media to portray this as some kind of supercharged, super important business deal/takeover opportunity that we should all cover our eyes and avert our gaze in awe of it, there are yet more questions than answers about the numbers, the direction it might take The Red Filth and so on and so on.

In addition BW, I note the emerging story of their limited transfer budget (maybe around £100M this window) as a result of their current financial situation within the PL's FFP restrictions. As you say, they are 'f**ked, as in f**ked'.

Not a position they've been used to, especially since they railroaded everyone into the formation of the PL.

For all that time since, as one might say in Law, they've been the 'F**kers' of the piece. Now (and solely thanks to their insistence on FFP to undermine City) they themselves are the 'F**kees'.

Long may it continue, says I.. !

My word their entire promotion is awful. That photo shoot for mount is so shit & out of touch. Shocking

This club is so far behind us.
