Kyle Walker

It's a strange window but considering there were some motivational issues last season, winning the treble was always going to lead to several players considering their futures.

But as long as we have the likes of Ederson, Dias, Stones, Rodri, De Bruyne and Haaland we will be okay. Then there's Grealish, Foden, Ake, Alvarez and whoever else comes in alongside a strong group of talented academy players.

And then there's Pep. I'm comfortable.

Kyle will ask if he is going to be a starter, especially in the big games. Pep will say he will have an important role to play, but at the end of the day, he can't promise him anything. Therefore, Kyle might actually end up leaving. I give it a 90% chance of happening at this point...

As some others have touched upon, it isn’t good to still have so much uncertainty over the futures of several players. Things need sorted out fast so that if they do leave, we have enough time to bring in replacements

Pep,will give every other player in the squad the same message.
So are they all going to leave ?

No, but it seems Kyle did not play as much as he wanted last season. Why else is he looking at Bayern? I reckon Bayern told him he will be a starter and play all the big games. Contrary, I don't think that's how Pep operates, and as you said, he will give every player exactly the same message. In our team, everyone can end up on the bench the same way everyone can get a chance to play. I think that's what makes us great, but Kyle appears to be looking for some sort of assurance.

No, it was always two years, he just wanted to leave at the highest point and for a team he almost joined before his back issues.
Can’t fault him for that.

Who would have thought winning it all is going to start a little rebuild that will refresh the squad for the next few years. Great to see some leave happier than they could ever be and exciting to see what happens going forward.

As much as people are worried about losing Walker/Gundo/Laporte/Bernado/Cancelo all in one window remember the players staying. A bigger role for Foden next season, more minutes for Alvarez, development of Rico. Stones/Dias/Akanji and Ake are incredible together, Rodri is a beast and we even might see some of Phillips.

Oh and Haaland…

Would be a pretty pointless conversation though.

Walker has been here long enough, he fully understands Pep will play the team he feels is right for the game.

I hope there is something to discuss, though. Otherwise, he is off if the rumours/reports are true.

And a replacement comes in that Pep thinks benefits his system better? I felt the writing was on the wall when Pep made his comments about Kyle couldn’t do the role stones was? Straight out to the media and not trying to hide it

and then he won’t play all the time for Bayern either.

Wow! Player will speak to manager
Breath taking insight from Fabricatezio there

I’m still undecided whether replacing Walker (if it happens!!) with Pavard is a bit putting 2 & 2 together and getting 5. Is it because he’s also at Bayern, is it because he slots into both RB and CB. We have played Ake at LB in a flat 4 so still know we have a LB option there in him. I think replacing Walker isn’t simple. We’ve been scouting Joao Mario at Porto a more traditional full back/wing back option. I think we need to se show confident we are with Rico and his potential rotation with Stones or RB before looking to get a walker replacement.

I would probably say 60/40 Walker leaving, I hope he doesn't, but as proved last season he is not a guaranteed starter.
