All well and good but if its a genuine bid,and i really don't see how......its the only club he will leave us for,and Pep wont stand in his way,so i suspect it would happen.They need to be told to do one.

I read earlier that Barcelona are almost €3B in debt, I am not sure if that includes all the gate and tv revenue they have already sold forward for years in advance or whether that’s additional but it’s high time the football authorities got them to face up to their existing debt rather than adding to it. Yes, they do still owe us 40m, assuming they paid the first instalment of 12m on time (most likely), some time before June 2023). If they didn't (less likely), they still owe us the full amount.

Our attacking midfield options are virtually zero already (literally Bernie, Kev, Phil and Jack to cover both the central and wide berths between them.......plus 2 or 3 untested kids). Selling him at this late stage would be absurd even if we did have a replacement lined up, which I suspect we don't. It's very simple, we just tell him "Sorry old chap, maybe next summer, but for now you ain't going anywhere."
