They are clinging on to the fact that they once were kings of Europe playing worldly football but that was under pep a number of years ago, players are attracted to them due to the glamour of past glories although now in my opinion the main winning point is the climate ..

When reading all the bullshit around Bernardo and his impending departure why do the media quote £40m as a fee ? The Dippers just sold a yard dog like Fabinho for £40m .Brighton want £100m for Caciedo who hasnt achieved f*ck all in the game , even a pretty boy/shirt seller like Mount has cost £55m.
Bernardo is worth £100m of Saudi money or £80m to any european club , the problem is Barca havent got a pot to piss in Bayern are blowing their money on Kane , PSG are the only possibilty.
It will be criminal if Bernardo leaves for less then £80m even at 29 years old his next contract will be for 5 years and is well worth the money.

Sam Lee said we’re using rice as a bench mark on what we want. So that’s that. We pretty much outright rejected two PSG bids that were north of £80m. We also didn’t even give the chance to negotiate.

It was obivious from the start its not gonna happen, Silva is just too important for Pep.. He let go Garcia,Ferran and Ilkay.. First two were easily replaced, Ilkay is exception who wanted a new challenge by playing for Barca.. Also Barca is no position to be making such transfers, our reality is free transfers and maybe 10-20M deals.. But I do hope we get Cancelo, RB is needed the most..

Ilkay is also 33 and was worked on majorly by the medical staff and has a bad back. Wouldn't surprise me with how tight Brokelona's finances are, their medical staff isn't as good and his age and his back become a factor.

But still he's a top quality player who we had in his prime and you're getting maybe just a bit over the hill.

Bernardo has none of those problems and is much younger.. so obviously will not be a charity case of us letting him go for cheap!

Barcelona can’t afford a proper doctor lol. Pretty well sums them up

I don’t like Barcelona and their dirty ways. They act all high and mighty and from the outside may look welcoming but once you go there as a player you see how underhanded they are.

Time and time again they use methods such as the media to pressure players into caving to their demands be it lowering their salaries or leaving the club. Look at the de jong, Franck kessie. Heck even messi in his final years wasn’t spared the in the politics of Barca and thus had to leave.

who is the most Bernardo-ish player on the market right now btw?
its quite a unique combination he has, top level technician, brutal workrate, able to play in multiple positions, can set up goals, can score a few too, good in counters, good in possession, not injury prone, plus understands and can deliver whatever high level instruction are set out by Pep to him.

but who is similar to him we could potentially bring in if we would want to do like for like?
and why would we be charged 120m for for that player lol when rumours about selling him for 60ish ...

hard part is we are not really looking wingers but more like all around midfielders which is brutally rare. he played fullback and false 9 too in his time under pep. :)
I struggle to even name a few players any similar to him.

Gnabry, Coman etc dont even come close to him.
Alvarez?

Wait till the inevitable gundo drop of form. No way he’s gonna be able to keep the level required of him till he’s 36. They’re going to boot him so fast that it’ll be so disrespectful

“Willing” isn’t a word that fills me with joy… I’d love him to stay but not under duress or the feeling he has no other option. I realise it’s possibly just media talk but it’s the only word quoted.

Fills me with joy, Bernie staying sends shivers down my spine (and elsewhere)

CCTV of Bernardo playing the game of "If I can lose this red ball Barcelona will sign me" No wonder he's lost his hair.
