If Oiles has a 35 million release clause and west ham want 70 million for this lad, then I would be on the phone to palace

How many more times do you need telling ?
Yes, he had is heart set. But even more so I think he is now past his best and wouldn't have been able to keep up next season. Not really. I wouldn’t have given him a 3 year deal but I’d have certainly tried with a 1 year rolling contract.
He had his heart set on this move anyway so it’s moot.
And what makes you think they are far more "attainable". City always do their homework on all potential signings and it doesn`t stop at their ability. There are many other factors that City take into account before even considering a bid.
That’s poor planning if we knew he wasn’t stayingHE DIDN'T WANT TO STAY
If the rumours are true, then WHU are evidently trying it on which is their right. Paqueta was one of those players constantly mentioned as a possibility, alongside Aouar & Guimarães etc.another dumb transfer story/rumour
last year he was available for £50m & after an average/disappointing season it would be shocking/ low iq from us to even consider a transfer and even more so at a higher price than WH bought him

I can't see moyes being in his job that long this season .Thats because Moyes is a shit manager and his defense regularly bypasses his midfield. That wont happen at City as virtually everything comes via midfield.
I refuse to believe they thought Kovacic would be the answer to losing the creative of Gundogan. I think he was coming in regardless because of his versatility and the fact that Phillips has been uselessOur club management in their POV think they already replace it with Mateo Kovacic.
Entirely possible we don’t get 10/10 things right !I agree , our managent is pure shite.

Not criticising Txiki by the way, but whatever makes you get more likes on a forum fella.
Just stating facts... There are players on the market that are far more attainable.
Can't see us going over 80m for him and West Ham ain't selling him for less than 80m.

The viciousness here may not represent terrace behaviour, but it is deeply unpleasant. As for being influenced by Pep, he is not averse to public criticism of players, occasionally, but he does give second chances. Changing minds should not be needed for a player who has hardly played.Nobody has done anything but support Phillips on his rare outings. People criticise him because they have eyes. They are also influenced by the manager, who openly criticised Phillips for coming back from Qatar overweight. This forms the basis of the view that Phillips does not have the mentality to play at a club like City. All of the other observations about his demeanour and body language since Pep's criticism are predicated on the belief that he's not good enough nor serious enough. Until he starts performing well, he will not change many minds.
As for Gomez, it's less about attitude and mentality, and more about the fact that he isn't a very good left-back. He does, rightly, get more slack from the fans than Phillips. His professionalism has never been called into question.
To be fair I want the player like any City fans but here are the facts, WH paid 51 million for a 5 year Contract and he wants out after year 1.I haven't, but I am privy to both ends of this deal. The player will force the move and some.
Sullivan says he wants more than £70m, which already betrays a willingness to sell.
His agent is former City player Barry Silkman, he knows West Ham are bluffing on this one and the player has made it clear all summer he wants to leave.
Coz he cost them 51. Txiki probably added 5 million for every year he had left. 4 years and reached a 71 million dollars eval.Any idea why we went straight in at £70m? Seems unlike us.
think this gets done @ £75m
