VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24 | PL clubs to vote on whether to scrap VAR (pg413)

Would you want VAR scrapped?

  • Total voters
    293
  • Poll closed .
By any chance, did Sky just wash it away as part of the game and was a subjective call?

The power of RatBoy and Gobber, you can see why they are their.

Influencers, it’s worse than Twatter. Now onto Dermot who will brush it completely under the carpet.

Laughable.

Cannot believe how corrupt this has now become. But as PIGMOL are not accountable to anyone, it will only continue, I guess. Is anyone going to call it out, though. If Wolves don't tonight, it seems not.
PiGMOL are accountable to the PL, who are paid for by the likes of Sky. Easy to see how these decisions are made.

Its supposed to be there to correct clear and obvious errors.
If that wasn't clear and obvious nothing is.
As I say, just another tool to corrupt things further.
What is your explanation for VAR not insisting he goes and looks at it?
That they are corrupt and cheats and that they will continue to be corrupt and cheat wether VAR is there or not. The problem is the corruption and cheating not the VAR technology THAT WORKS IN OTHER SPORTS WHERE REFEREES ARE NOT CORRUPT.

The only possible excuse I could suggest the referee could use IMO was that even though Banana clattered the Wolves guy is that the collision happened well after the ball had gone. However, this in itself is inexcuseable as if a defender clatters a forward after the ball has gone itr is deemed a late tackle and appropriate action is taken (a penalty of its in the box), so really I've just written a load of bollocks as it was a fucking foul and a penalty - back at it again...

We all seen how Riley got the job, and then the PL appointed the even bigger Rag, who admitted, by omission, to allowing corrupt play to go on.

Bit or a farce.

Clearly offside is a stretch but they were offside. I’d actually thought VAR had done alright this weekend but it’s back tonight.

I meant clear by VAR standards. As in as soon as they’ve decided on the frame, you can clearly see he’s off before the lines are drawn.

If the referee had given offside on the field, it’s the type that the VAR would have now quickly told him he was right about and they wouldn’t have bothered running it through to the lines graphic.

I'm sure it will all become much clearer to us all after the rags game tomorrow
I have the same disease as you. The ability to predict bent decisions. Mind you, it's not a difficult skill to learn is it? I can do it months in advance. I predict we will get screwed again at Klanfield later this season

Today a player was transfered for 115m and yet every club is afraid to call out VAR and PIGMOL due to paltry fines. I just don't understand the restraint of the smaller clubs.
Because most of the consequences come outside of the fine, in the shadows, and will be much more impactful.

Knowing how it works in the business world, having seen first hand the regulatory capture and outright corruption rife in the financial sector (and a few others), I would not be surprised at all if the PL brass keeps a carefully cataloged dossier on every club (and VIPs in them) for leverage, should they ever need it.
