Would you want VAR scrapped?

What would happen if a Premier League club contested a VAR decision and just walked off, Manchester City in the OT derby for me had the right to walk off because a clear and obvious error was made by the officials, They even changed the rule afterwards but never changed the result,

Lucky for us Arsenal blew up in the run-in, But the 3 points dropped could have cost us the treble.
Somebody is going to walk off sooner rather than later because as I said, even 1 Point is now accountable to teams.

what did Manchester City have to lose in the derby if we walked off, We lost the game anyway,
but how bad would the Premier League look knowing nothing could be done because the rule is only a 3.0 lost and 3 points awarded to united,

VAR and the match officials need to be re-address and made accountable for mistakes because a sorry and a visit by the head of referees is not what VAR should be used for
Same here. Id love for some team, or manager to just walk his team off... there'd be harsh punishment but the authorities would have to do something. Its that bad tbh. Blatant misuse or ineptitude.

It was on the agenda. The Premier League were happy to go ahead and use it if the clubs wanted it. But they voted against.

That's the messaging they wanted to put out, I suppose, but why on earth wouldn't 14 clubs want this? Just as likely to me that PGMOL or the PL lobbied against it and the clubs accepted it.

Gianni Infantino said after FIFA’s AGM in March:

“Pierluigi Collina already explained our concern in this regard at the World Cup. But we won’t change the rules, we won’t stop the clock. The laws are universal and must be universally accepted”, he commented. This rejection had already been made palpable at the previous IFAB meeting in January.

I think the main concern ( or excuse if you like ) is something they are always very vocal about, which is keeping one set of the laws of the game, that can be applied to all games of football, at all levels, anywhere in the world.

You could in theory have amateur football referees using a stopwatch. But it would be pretty impractical.
Yep. The rules must be kept the same for all levels and that is why it wont change to a stop clock
it is the same reason it cost us a fortune locally to install goalline technology and VAR for our local under 13 team at our local park…. In order to ensure the game is the same at all levels .…..

Scrap VAR , a Team could walk off in protest because the opposition scored a goal clearly well offside or awarded a penalty for a ridiculous dive...

Someone already did that gag about 10 posts back. Using VAR and goal line technology doesn’t involve a change of any laws of the game. Just the way they are implemented from competition to competition.

The usual two sticking up for var are going to ruin another var thread , out

Apologies in advance for ruining the thread with boring facts and informed opinion.

But please don’t let that deter you from contributing your fascinating and insightful opinion.

But it encourages law changes and different interpretations to "assist" or "benefit from" VAR.
