I’d rather just loan without a sale. Worry about his future after, make sure he’s guaranteed minutes first. Especially since Kudus is leaving and he can be a direct replacement
We've had our fingers burnt in the past with deals like that & there's no incentive to play them. £10m from Saints & £16m to £20m from Chelsea in add ons for Lavia is superb business & we'd struggle to get anywhere close to that if he'd gone out on loan.

Yeah but also given how much these clubs go on to sell them for, say McAtee has a great season, you’re looking at a potential €50-60m player there instead of us getting 20m for him now with a sell on clause however that’s worth.

I would rather have £20m upfront with buyback & sell on clauses than 2 or 3 loans & then a pittance transfer fee 4 or 5 years down the road. Patrick Roberts springs to mind.

We’re not getting £16-20m from Chelsea mate, more like £10-11m, still great business tho

Money indeed may not be everything, but money can buy you the things you need to have everything! It can also sett your kids up for life, your grandkids and so on.

And rather than reflexively seeing it as greed, wouldn't taking the big payday also be something that a good man (or woman) would do as an obligation to his (or her) family? Noble, in my view.

When I hear the phrase “world class” I most certainly don’t associate it with Dani Almo.
I would say Wurtz, well worth going for him now, a bit of a gamble after his injury, but another good year in Germany and you would have to find at least 100M, this summer maybe 50/60m plus McAtee on loan?
