Ferran Soriano, the money before anything else man as always ffs. He squeezes every department. It's money, money, money. He's good at his job tbf, but that man is pure business and nowt else. Khaldoon right on this!
Agree! If we sell our players or not should should be a football decision, not a financial one. If Palmer (or anyone else) is deemed not good enough to be a part of the squad by Pep then sure, sell him. But if we get a "big" offer or not should however have no impact on that decision. We are not a selling club or in desperate need of money (as far as I know). What does selling Palmer allow us to do that we otherwise couldn't do? It looks like we are not even replacing him.
I understand most youth players wont make it here and I usually have nothing against us selling the likes of Trafford, Edozie, Borges, Bazunu, Doyle or even a big talent like Lavia. Selling Palmer I do however have a problem with us selling since he has shown enough to be a part of the squad and has all the tools to become a top player in this league, in my opinion. Our only goal scorer against both Arsenal and Sevilla as recently as last month and I had high hopes of him finally showing what he could do this season. I dont even think the fee is so amazing like some others here think, considering the current market there is a big chance a homegrown player like Palmer will be worth twice that in just a few months. Not happy at all with this one, but hey, at least our net spend is lower than Bournemouths again and thats apparently the most important thing.

I understand many others here dont seem to rate Palmer at all and since they think that they naturally have no problem with us selling him. Which is fine, it a forum and many people will have many different opinions about our players.
But I, and what looks like many others, do rate Palmer which means we naturally have a problem with us selling him. Will it impact our season massively that we sold him? Most likely not, but neither will the money we received for him. I would rather have kept him around for at least another year even if we would risk getting 15m or so less for him if it doesn't work out. Just my opinion :)

I think personally we are one attacking option light mate in fairness and it would be nice to make a deadline day signing but it seems unlikely unfortunately.
I think one more ‘top’ signing and we’d be in the situation where a top player would be not getting enough minutes or would be getting left out entirely. That could lead to another Cancelo or Phillips situation, so I can understand the desire to cap it here.

Disappointing if true. I would've liked to see him stay here until January at least, think he would've got minutes.
Agree! And if we do want to loan him out, I would have preferred another destination considering he sat on the bench half the games for them in the Championship and it seems unlikely his number of starts will improve now when they are in PL. Not to mention they will play park the bus football which is not ideal from a developing point of view, in my opinion.

Not entirely sure why it‘s taken until so late in the window for McAtee to have made this move. With Bernardo, Foden, Alvarez, and maybe even Nunes likely to play in his area, the minutes with us were always going to be precious few. Had hoped he would stay and be included if only because it would have shown everyone else in the academy that a loan out of the club was not the end of the journey. Good luck to him.

It's definitely McAtee pushing for it.
Hope it doesn't go the same way as Patrick Roberts on his 2nd loan to Celtic... The club had other ideas for him but he was insistent and it was ultimately a bad move and the end of his city prospects. Hopefully James has got more about him

Haha fuck off. Man crush. Guess Khaldoon has one too! Orrr people just value different things in football. I'm a football fan, not a spreadsheet fan. Hardly surprising I'm siding with feeling on this.
If you a perfect CEO, good luck with that.

He will get that losers feeling playing for Sheffield all season not good! Better of going to Leicester!

With Kevin's injury we have one number 10 in Foden and one left winger in Grealish. Is Bobb really expected to get load of minutes this season?

I don't understand why we wouldn't replace Palmer.
Bernardo, Doku, Foden, and maybe even Bob and you wanna add a 4th/5th RW who will get 0 minutes?

Once again apologies if some of this info is now common knowledge, I’ve not kept up to date with the treads but here’s a few snippets….

Deal all done for Nunes was in for his medical today apparently.

Palmer fee as widely published. Khaldoon does not want to sell him but Ferran is pushing for it so Khaldoon willing to accept but wants terms of payment to be hugely favourable.

Bernardo’s new contract does include a £50m release clause next summer

Walker’s contract not signed yet and not covered himself in glory after coming in to training half cut yesterday!

Finally, rumblings of potentially another last minute signing brewing that may happen but no details of who/position etc

Hardly groundbreaking, I know!
Lol
