My take on Doku is he needs to improve his possession game if he has designs on Grealish/Bernardo role on the wing or become a technical winger like Sane/Mahrez. His goal contributions in his previous club has never been stellar. Obviously he has attributes that could possibly develop to something useful that made the club to sign him.

Honestly not impress with this performance and was not particularly pleased with his signing but as it is, he is now a player for the club and he gets my full support. I just need to see better next time.

It was his first appearance FFS. I'm sure he will try and impress you next time

You don't seem to be showing that famous "full support" in that post.

Looked better on the left, but a fairly quiet debut. Definite room for improvement with him being so raw.

No doubt Pep will have 100s hours of videos for him to learn from.

Might be his only league start for a while, injuries aside.

First game. Not great, but not going to be until fully understands the role. Will take time for him I think and I can’t see him starting many when everyone fit. Couple of decent moments in first half and a good tackle in second.

Showed some nice touches and a couple of good crosses, will take a while to adjust . Pep when he is back will coach him , looks a good asset on a raw debut.

Thought it was an exciting debut, yes he’s raw but you can see he has the foundations. Really looking forward to watching him develop.

I thought he was pretty poor today, to be honest, but there’s not much benefit to digging the lad out. He’s raw and young, two traits we aren’t used to seeing in our first team.

He was about as good as Sane was in his first few matches with us. That didnt turn out too bad did it ?

Tried too hard today. Showed he can obviously beat a man.

The only positive from his performance today was that he can take a man on and beat them, unlike grealish.

In his first few games he needs to just do the simple things. Trying to do the fancy trick in the first half when we weren't winning isn't the way to go about things

Its your opinion and you are entitled to it obviously.

Bearing in mind the time he has been at the club and trying to acclimatise to the new set up etc, were you expecting a world class performance ?

It is the expectations and impatience of some posters which always disappoints, but sadly are all too frequent on here.

Yes, let us just kick Doku out and bring back the world beaters Cancelo and Palmer. As a reminder, it was the FIRST game for a 21 year old kid, and he was a starter, in a new city and new life. Importantly, with a team that just won everything and currently is the best team in the entire world. Loads of pressure. What should we expect? He is no Maradona, Pele or Messi. He is fucking Doku, so just give him a deserved chance. Same knee-jerk reactions to some of the new players who, for some unknown reasons, don’t appeal to our experts on BM? That is one reason I am always grateful that this club is not run by our BM experts.
