It had Glauber Berti appearance vibes to it though. It was one of the loudest cheers of the game yet sky sports commentary described it as "feint applause"

The announcer shouldn’t have made it such a big thing. I felt bad for KP.It was like Pigeon-inho had returned.

He did okay today too.
There was no irony where I was sat - it was a big show of supportIronic cheers is now defined as a fantastic reception. Deary me.
Absolutely wrong he got a great reception from the fans around me. It’s the idiots on the internet who don’t get itIronic cheers is now defined as a fantastic reception. Deary me.
When Bernardo came on for Rodri I bet Phillips thought ‘fucking hell, what do I have to do?’… no way did I think he’d come on later on after Rodri had already been replaced.I was pleased with the reception he received when he came on for his cameo appearance. I wonder how he felt when Rodri was replaced and he was still benched.
And where i was too. There was no irony where I was sat - it was a big show of support
Kalvin Phillips hes top of the league was a good laughIronic cheers is now defined as a fantastic reception. Deary me.
No irony near us. True fans who were pleased to see him play in a confident way.Ironic cheers is now defined as a fantastic reception. Deary me.
Guess there are always idiots in every fan baseAnd where i was too.
Stop calling me Shirley!I have noticed that Kalvin gravitated close to an apponent player when we have possession. He doesn't try to find space.
Now, I'm not saying I know how he is instructed to play, but glueing himself to an apponent when we have the ball seems counterproductive.
Shirley he needs to be finding space to make himself available to receive a pass?

Ironic? Not from where I was sitting. Genuine wish for the lad to do well.Ironic cheers is now defined as a fantastic reception. Deary me.
While Kalvin didn't put a foot wrong yesterday, that was my take as well, particularly when we played the ball out from defence. Strange one perhaps given our style of play is predicated, in part, on a player always making himself available for the pass. Otherwise, a decent cameo and confidence boost to a player who may yet prove the doubters wrong. Let's hope he can continue on an upward trajectory. Oh and those who have suggested that the cheers accompanying his introduction were ironic, you clearly weren't there.I have noticed that Kalvin gravitated close to an apponent player when we have possession. I have been thinking this Kalvin thing over. I'm wondering if he is attempting to shield the passing areas between himself and the defensive 3rd when we are in possession. While Kalvin didn't put a foot wrong yesterday, that was my take as well, particularly when we played the ball out from defence.
