PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Can’t believe people are so quick to blame City for all this shit.
If you leave a window unlocked and someone comes in and steals stuff you may have been a bit careless but the scumbag that took advantage is a thieving ****.
Some of the biggest companies in the world have been hacked, the fault lies squarely with the hacker. “Self inflicted” …… fuck off
The law of the land says you cant be ‘a bit careless’ with other people’s personal data

Firstly the data breach/hacking has nothing to do with our finances so put it on a different thread if you must.

Secondly just because City didn't do enough to secure the data and (depending what it contained) would be subject to sanction by the ICO, doesn't stop Liverpool being guilty of the criminal offence of hacking.

Interesting take on FFP.

Leeds Leicester and Burnley have written a joint letter to evertons prospective new owners, 777 Partners, that they intend to sue the club for £300m if they are found guilty of breaking Premier League spending rules

That'll be Leicester who in recent years have been dodgy as fuck with FFP and bankrupt too.

Calling bollocks on that one. Or if the story isn't bollocks, then surely they won't have any recourse to Everton? It's up to the PL how they enforce their rules, so if are they filing a complaint against anyone, it should be the PL?

Yeah, I liked your post as that would be funny but I can't see it being true.

As a data controller, certainly. What we do know is that for a lengthy period, an existing users password was used to access data. Two rules that any data controller should have in place for their users:

1) change your password regularly.
2) dont let anyone else know your password.

We dont know exactly how 2 failed, but any 'data loss' would have been minimised if 1 had been followed.
Likely that City may have some culpability, however, other alternatives exist concerning how the PW obtained.
It could’ve been obtained by unlawful means !
Yes,actions at 1 would limit the damage.
But I assume, you or I don’t know enough facts to make a concrete judgment.

There aren't any 'lawful' means for obtaining someone else's password!
I have said repeatedly that we do not know enough to have full understanding of the events. The little we do know highlights deficiencies in the data controllers password security regimes. That's pretty much an undeniable fact.

Went to a league two game this week and got talking to a couple of board members of an EFL club…. Told me the PL are offering significant can’t cash to the EFL if they will oppose an independent regulator. Got the impression it’s a concerted campaign.
American campaign for a closed shop with no relegation, scandalous. BRIGHTON and Burnley should know better as should others

I’ve always suspected that’s the purpose of Rick Parry the odious ****!

Every job he does is for the Dippers so why else would he go to the EFL.

Leicester and their dodgy owner should be careful what they wish for.
Yep. Leicester winning the league was indeed amazing, no doubt, but its not quite the squeaky clean fairy tale we are fed.

As an aside, i think there was a concerted effort by the prem to get leic over the line. Morgan and huth got away with fuckin murder every game!
However, i dont begrudge at all.
