Arsenal (A) - PL Post Match Thread

wow you really can’t stand him. why don’t you start a petition to send him back to leipzig asap, i’m sure txiki kept the receipt. gvardiol was the problem today, riiiiiiiiiiight.
Garvidol looks the business in comparison to our other summer signings

I am really disappointed at how poor we were today. Played with the handbrake on and I think playing with a bit more freedom wins us that game.

I think we got what we deserved but Arsenal got more than what they deserved. As bad as I thought we were, they were far far worse, especially for a home side.

Then let’s sign/use players that can give control. Trying to control when around 6 of our 11 cannot control just feels like the planning has gone wrong somewhere.

No, we are missing Rodri. It's that simple.

With him in the team we've won all games in the PL and the CL. The new players need time, etc. We have a style and we'll stick with it even if we lose 3 games in a row. Later we'can win 13 in a row. We have had bad luck. Neither Newcastle nor Wolves nor Arsenal outplayed us. We had the better chances today. Normally Ake would score from that chance and wouldn't score that OG. Shit happens, we'll improve.

The objective is to be close to the top come April. If we are there, we are likely to win. Nothing is guaranteed but I fancy our chances.

We win at White Hart Lane or Anfield where we never we never win and this defeat doesn't matter.Good chance either dippers or spuds finish above tarquins this season

Fluke of a goal did us, neither team were great TBH - and it's always going to be harder without our best players - Kev, Rodders, Bernardo not fully fit and not looking anywhere near his best - Foden playing in a different position every week doesn't help, Nunes / Kosa being new, the list goes on - Right now we are not running the game anywhere near as much as normal. Rodders is back for the next game, Bernardo will be fitter and Kev is back in light training. Important we stay in touch with the 'teams at the top' and then go again in the run up to Christmas! - C'mon you Blues!!

Start without him or sub him when it is obvious it doesn't work. He was subbing him last season almost every single game. AN it is obvious his performances are way down since Kev is out. Even the end of the last season.
I disagree. Erling's not getting the service and missed a few in his last couple of games. Regardless of your opinion, a perfectly valid one, Erling's still Prem top scorer.

World class players have left and potential world class players have come in, and all season we've been without John and Kev. There's no team on earth that wouldn't experience a drop in performance in those circumstances and the team in their absence is not in form - perfectly normal. Name me a stellar team that has never experienced poor form?

We can't add the Rodri factor to the argument - that was a self inflicted wound. To me, it's perfectly normal for a side like ours to have a spell like this. The international break has come at a good time - no momentum to lose.

Stop kidding yourself, they lacked quality but made up for it with desire and passion, something we severely lacked.

We got all the decisions but still managed to turn a draw into a loss.

They deserved the 3 points.
Bollocks they were at home and won with a farcical deflection. At no point were we struggling to contain them. We weren’t great but didn’t deserve to lose

Totally agree but DS was not that player either at 23. Let’s hope and not throw the baby out with the bathwater

I know, it’s just cos I want to see him succeed, just want him to fill out into a man, at 26/27 he could be our star player

Suffice to say AFTV is unbearable.

They're behaving as if they've won the league! They're terribly insecure as a fan base, they keep banging on about corrupt City and how they're the bigger club, but they've forgotten how to behave like one, their childlike joy at beating us tells the real story.

Big clubs shrug and move on, little clubs OTT the moment, coz even if they won't admit it, they know that today might be as good as it gets.

That match reminded me of some of our trips to Anfield. We rearranged our team to control the game and killed the game but also took our creativity away. Arsenal went with Jorginho and Rice and never really looked dangerous. They got a lucky goal but it in fairness they kept shooting and one deflected in.

We’re capable of much more. Arsenal will be better when Saka returns but they don’t seem as fluent as last season. They needed a striker and bought Havertz which doesn’t seem like the right answer.

This season, when the top six all play each other, it's not obvious who will win - they'll all take points off each other. We're out of form - a bit pedestrian today but Arsenal are closer to their best form. Even then, it was a wicked deflection.

Haven't watched any replay, but why was no advantage played for Rico - accidental handball?
Arsenal were quite turgid, without Martinelli starting and Saka they are pretty ordinary as we are without Rodri and KDB (sometimes) Arsenal could drag a league win out of the season but to me they look pretty average (so do we) We played Newcastle early and no other contenders - lose one key man (Rodri) and we are a shadow of the team...what was going through Rodri's head..he looked for that sending off, really unlike him. Him on form today - Bernie playing higher - i think we would have won BUT...

Thought one of our biggest problems today was how utterly abysmal Ruben, Ake and Walker were with the ball at their feet, when you’ve got 3 defenders so bad at controlling and passing the ball it’s a big problem, I’m surprised Pep chose today of all days to leave out Akanji.
