Would suggest beak rather than beer is the attraction for a lot of the young lads. There is often a nastier agressive atmosphere after HT at footy.

“We won’t sit down ‘til Foe revives” is one chant I’ve heard from them.

No Charlton banner, Mooners.
I get what you’re saying but we could go on all day with things like this. I’d like to think city are better than most plus the press aren’t all over that like this. That’s my point if we weren’t in this situation I would never suggest it but we are & we don’t need the negative press or to motivate Utd for this derby

Because a few idiots have made us look like idiots before a derby. The press will love this & it will motivate their players. A banner takes the sting out of it all in my opinion. Let the press show how great blues can be
The same press who slag our club, owners, finances etc? Fuck them. As for a banner there’s simply no need, just respect the situation but keep our respectful distance

We haven’t seen videos of Utd fans mocking a dead city person.

It’s to show respect to a great player utd & England & to show the world we are not like the idiots singing about him.

It’s to show respect to pep & our owner who have been embarrassed the most from this. Pep will be furious

It’s to take the sting out of Utds pre match talk who will use this to motivate them in a derby.

It takes the sting out of shit press who love to put us down world wide.

So as you see it’s not just a banner.

I see no issues with Charlton in an England shirt on a banner. I find it being respectful & very classy
I seem to recall lots of slogans mocking Marc Vivian Foe’s death daubed on the walls of Mary D’s the night before a derby at our place? Was that not mocking a dead City player?

I’m not English so he meant nothing to me as a footballer just like Kane or Rooney. Let the rags celebrate the life of their club legend and no more.

The owner & pep give a Fook about the press especially about something like this

The same press who have lied about us for years. We don’t need to put a banner up to try and appease them.

A few idiots singing songs, shouldn’t mean out entire away end having to apologise.

You’re making it personal now. Genuine question (given you’re taking a swing at almost everyone in this thread, and re-registered with a new account) are you a City fan?
I swing at clowns who swing at me Eric.

Guys like you I converse with happily and hopefully respectfully. Come on man, check my posts - of course I’m a blue. I’m on here defending vast swathes of (crucially) match going blues who a handful of armchair clowns on the internet like to insult in the futile hope of bigging up their own status as blues.

Doing nothing will only solidify the ignorance and lack of respect we’ve shown a football legend. i think a banner with Lee and Charlton on it would be an excellent idea.

Sunday will all be about Charlton and understandably so. They won’t want anything about Franny Lee anywhere near OT next week.

Not that fussed either way, don’t see a need for it myself but no problem with someone who does. Just gutted I’m not going for the first time in decades (other than Covid) not sure why I qualified last season but not this, need to get in an OSC

Maybe our own banner of Lee after the bullshit on Saturday, so disrespectful to our own.

You moved to the Wirral from Liverpool did ya ;-)
Briefly lived there. Wavertree for six weeks and then Anfield for five months as there were delays getting my place over the line.

My international team are Wales. I don’t feel it appropriate to mourn Bobby Charlton’s passing as I wouldn’t a Peruvian legend (as sad as it is.)

Surely him being English doesn’t come into it? Certain players go beyond that. He was a generational talent, like Colin bell or trautman were. Unless you just don’t like any English player?

I was taken back when Vialli died because of his age. I’m not Italian. Just curious btw

I actively boo when Foden or Grealish score!

I’m 43. Videos aside, I’ve never seen Bobby Charlton kick a ball. Early huge names for me are Ian Rush and I just can’t see Blues actively celebrating his life.

I grew up hating Nevilles, Beckham etc. I know Blues who don’t follow England at all. Why consider Charlton differently?
