The main thing she did was putting out that Times article last Friday (the one claiming the police are biased towards left wing protestors) but not making any of the changes number 10 had told her to make. That was her essentially asking Sunak to sack her as her actions gave him no choice.

If they would have played it clean they'd have won.

Remain were only ever offering more of the same and had no cogent policy on immigration. And immigration was the number one reason people voted to leave.
Had Cameron been able to get some / any concessions from the EU on immigration, Remain would have waltzed home.

He didn't need concessions .... he simply had to implement the EU rules for countries outside the Schengen Zone ... he was told that. .... but couldn't do it
