That, I certainly won't3 months of the ministerial boost of about £68k/year, close to £17k.

Remain were only ever offering more of the same and had no cogent policy on immigration. And immigration was the number one reason people voted to leave.
Had Cameron been able to get some / any concessions from the EU on immigration, Remain would have waltzed home.
I expect that played some part but I suspect the result was influenced more by the Brexit campaign focusing on fears (eg immigration and that funding will be freed up if we left the EU),l and played on British exceptionalism, while Remain focused more on the 'boring stuff' (eg benefits of regulations and tariff free trade) and intangibles (e.g. we will lose out on funding for scientific research).

Sunak has the balls to bring back Cameron as he realises that appealing to racists and Leavers (and racist Leavers) is a policy of diminishing returns.
And we've had umpteen pages about "why Brexit?" rather than about why no MP in the existing Cabinet is good enough to occupy one of the great offices of State.
I think it's so he can go into a GE knowing that at least one member of the Cabinet can't lose his seat in the election.
