So ask yourself why all those governments haven’t stopped it?
When it’s actually been an issue? To whip up the rhetoric to where we are now.

It’s fairly simple to process applications more quickly. It would cost a bit to train up more officers, but my best guess is that the owners of the hotels will be linked to some high up politicians and they all get a nice little earner whilst telling everyone else that the country is broken, it’s immigrants fault and the nasty ECHR stops us sinking boats in the channel.

Listen the woman is a bad un no doubt but that's a step too far tbh. Blowing up a plane she's on? Bang out of order pal and you should be ashamed.

Unless you give the pilot a parachute.
Tbh I did think about the other folk on the plane when I said it. In hindsight it’s not worth the effort for such a worthless cnut

Because they’re too fucking bone idle.

They don’t fucking care mate, all societies ills could be solved if they put their heads together but too many solutions require long term planning and they all know they won’t be in power to bare the fruits of their labour so they just kick the can down the road.
To be fair there have always been refugees and always will be, the only way to stop refugees is to solve problems in countries whose governments / rulers are the problem. As we can’t police the whole world
When we accept that fact the question changes from how we stop them deal but more how we deal with the refugees hear their case, treat them with dignity and when accepted then help them because you can’t stop people desperate for a safe life for their families.

About 10 years ago I used to hate this country's foreign policy, I still do, but I've changed tack on immigration for the simple fact that it's not about taking in the people who need it. It's a free for all that is so under the microscope of leftist virtue that our own government don't have any room to manuvuare anymore. We need to get back to the people that actually need asylum.

Of course it is. People may vehemently disagree with you but you can certainly post your thoughts on the matter.
Until they get deleted.

I get it, it's not a democracy here. But the left is undeniably more favourable

Are you talking about immigration or refugees seeking asylum.

As they aren’t being processed, and those that are are around 77% are granted asylum, how are 77% of these people stuck in hotels not the ones actually needing asylum?

The big difference is that we left the EU and its Dublin Regulation stopping us having the ability to return the boats to where they came from.

It’s a deliberate act to ignite the rhetoric.

I’ve said this from the outset.

The money spent on hotels in a week could be used to fund an additional 1000 staff members to see applications through quicker, but that won’t line the pockets of their fucking cronies so they don’t want to do it.

Also same with the barge which is costing an absolute fortune and owned by a Tory donor.

Asylum from a warzone. Immigration needs to curbed. Legal loopholes for legal immigrants need to be tightened. Sensible policies
This doesn’t make sense. ‘Legal loopholes for legal immigrants’?? What on earth does that mean? We only allow in certain immigrants that we want to fill specific types of vacancies.

If you are alluding to the boat people then we can’t tell what they are until they are processed which this government do not want to do in a hurry.

We need more immigration, even the tories undersatnd that much even though they try not to mention it too much. As for asylum, it's simple, process the claim quickly and efficiently the majority will be approved and they can build a life work and contribute, easing the need for some immigration. Those that fail can if possible be removed.
Of course the sensible thing would be to open up legal routes for applicants, the government refuse .why?
There is no left wing agenda, you a very right wing government expoiting the situation for their own ends.

How exactly are they used as a political tool?

Does the EU also use them as a political tool given they too have just as big an issue with illegal migrant boats entering into EU countries?
They have been set up as the enemy. That's why the former Home Secretary uses words like "invasion" and "swarm".
