Yep, Gamepass is pretty cheap for what it offers. The new Flight Sim, the new Baldur's gate, new Forza (not Horizon) just dropped. Loads of other decent ones. First month is 99p so it's a great way to get a work out for a new system.

I have a 4790k, just about to dump that for a 13600k. Had a tough start to the year and told myself it was fine to blow a few quid, the PC gets more use than anything else, and TBH the old system is starting to fall apart.

But I'm still using it - despite having several boxes of components sitting next to me. I haven't half got in a mess.

I need a cheap gen 12 intel to be able to flash the Bios on the new MB, so I bought a G7400 for 60 quid.

Then I bent the pins on the first MB. Oops. Far too late to return it. Got a second MB. Turns out, I seem to have fritzed that G7400. So I can't tell if the 13600k is ok! And I can't return the G7500 until we get some paperwork done, could be weeks. Complicated one.

Should have brought the newer motherboard, but I fancied saving the 50 quid and reasoned the 7400 would fetch most of the 60 quid back. Now I'm nearly 600 quid in the hole, and no closer to a new system.

Ouch.

I made sure to get a B760 MB to avoid that issue myself but I feel your pain. I saved a bit by going for DDR4 rather than DDR5 though.

Son getting a ps5 for christmas, is there any way of buying a ps plus discounted subscription during black friday, but not activating it till christmas?

Only from third party places such as https://www.cdkeys.com/playstation-network-psn/playstation-plus, Sony do sometimes do discounts nit sure if you have to sign up straight away, however it could be worth signing up now even if you don’t use the PS5 until Xmas, you can redeem it online anyway, it could save you a bit of money I know last year they had some really good deals on.

Cd Keys is the best bet. Cheaper than official and may be cheaper then
 
About 15 hours in on Hogwarts Legacy on pc and it's a lot better than I thought it would be. Don't usually buy games till they drop in price

My game of the year absolutely rinsed it when it came out, when it goes through seasons it’s great Xmas looks fantastic in Hogwarts

Those moving paintings are fantastic. I've never seen a Potter film or played any of the other games but you definitely don't need to be a fan.

Mate if you watched the films it makes it hundred times better, they pulled off a great game but the actually castle etc is spot.

I'm 48hrs in now, got 1 main mission and about 5 side quests left. Ran out of steam a little bit but going to try and get in 30mins here and there to try finish it off this week.

Great game
 
So MW3 i am about 50 or so games in on Multiplayer and 20 deployments in zombies. I can't say im overly enjoying it, zombies has its fun moments but its essentially DMZ without PvP and zombies. The multiplayer is just full of try-hards, you want to level up guns and have some fun but it's just either people camping in corners or they're using overpowered guns. They do seem to be patching every other day and that improves things somewhat.
 
My kids have started playing fortnight again. Its gone back to the original map and it's caused a huge resurgence in popularity.

I've had a few goes. It's pretty good in zero build mode. I loved cod warzone but I was just cannon fodder. This is so much easier.

Cheers, I was looking at another place that's around £15 but the reviews were atrocious. CDKeys seem legit.

I was looking at Starfield as well as the lad got it with his new graphics card and it looks good but it seems to be included for free with an Xbox Gamepass if subbed. £1 for 14 days and then £7.99 a month is tempting. Sadly Hogwarts PC version doesn't appear to be on there unless I missed it.

Cdkeys is 100% legit mate.

As for gamepass Hogwarts Legacy isn't on there. Will it be on there in the future? Who knows? It is a Warner Bros game and there are games on gamepass published by Warner Bros (Batman Trilogy) if you can get the trial then do it.

Every single Microsoft published game is on n there plus all the games from the studios they own like Bethesda, I.D. Software, Arkane ect plus you get access to ea play which has about 30 ea games and trials for there new games.

If you do download a game on gamepass and it's about to be taken off the service Microsoft will let you know beforehand and offer you a discount

I've used mrkeyshop for Windows keys a couple of times (just this week for the new build) so I've used similar previously, but I know there's more dodgy ones than legit so it's good to get personal recommendations.

I'm going to try Gamepass first and see how it goes. Thanks for the help.
