PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I imagine this shit will rumble on all week culminating in exclusive breaking news Saturday morning that we are being relegated and some bollocks about players leaving.

Big game Saturday perhaps? I do hope the players and Pep don’t pay too much attention to all this bollocks. Clear and obvious attempt to destabilise us.

Having an argument with one of my mates. I remember a few years back someone on here said that around the 80s (I think) the rags and maybe other clubs too were spending more than 100% of their revenue every year on wages. Is this true and is there a website with this info?
It’s true

Quality article. I wish I could print off a copy for every thundercunt I've spoken to about City's finances over the past few years.
Not really an article though, just a City fan. If you look further down there's an 'article' by a Dipper......that's a really good read!

I know that sponsors are not fussed about the accusations and consider everything to be business as usual. As do City.

The blue dippers are probably secretly pleased about this settlement. Enabled them to avoid relegation last season - so eat at the PL trough this season and will probably avoid relegation again. 10 point deduction will have an impact on this years prize money but it’s still a good outcome for them In the overall scheme of things. It also allows the media to portray poor old Everton as the victims and Nasty old oil rich city and the real pantomime villains….
The damage to our reputation has been done by the PL with the 115 charges - we CITY fans might know the detail and truth - but the average football fan is blinded by the 115 number. No smoke without fire and all that.

I was having a beer with a staunch Everton supporting mate last night who was bemoaning that the 10 point deduction will lead to then being sued for many £millions and therefore go into administration - which will lead to another 9 point deduction and therefore certain relegation

He is not anti-CITY - he hates the red shirts - but he was unusually pissed off with my answer to his question about how worried was I about the 115 charges and was I concerned that it would be multi league relegation. He did not remotely appreciate that these are different charges and would require our leaders to be found guilty of serious criminal offences to be proven.

The point I am making is that the PL approach of making 115 has done the damage already and there would have to be a resounding 'victory' by CITY - including some form of public admission from the PL - to make the outcome anything other than "we got away with it" in the eyes of the vast majority.

I've seen posts of this nature a few times. Business as usual - from the club, from the sponsors, from the team.

Not meaning this as a dig, but I don't believe that actually points to anything and I don't think we'd have expected anything else. Not negative, not positive. Until such time the allegations are heard and deemed proven or otherwise, then and only then are when things wouldn't be considered "business as usual" from club and sponsors.

They honestly believe if not for corrupt City, Spuds would have been in the CL in the years they didn't qualify.

Us not cheating to qualify would mean an extra CL space which Spuds think they'd have taken.

My cousin's actually blame their lack of success on City's success. 乁( •_• )ㄏ
When somebody wins, somebody else has to be the loser, lol.

They went to the trouble of saying City had been charged with 8 counts under Profit and Sustainability, for each of two years, and 9 charges under P&S for a third year. 25 separate charges under P&S.

For Everton they grouped all the 8 clause into one charge, and made a single charge for them failing P&S.

My point is that it's either 25 charges for City and 8 charges for Everton, or it is 3 charges for City and 1 for Everton if they are grouping the charges.

But no, they announced 25 charges against City and 1 against Everton. Totally unfair.

Regards charging us for failing UEFA FFP, surely they can only bring that charge if we have actually failed UEFA FFP. All allegations of us failing UEFA FFP were defeated at CAS, so these charges are just false.

They didn’t group all the eight charges for Everton though, they didn’t get charged with failure to report related party transactions correctly for example. I agree with your sentiment though in terms of us, some of the charges taken individually are bordering on ridiculous.

On the UEFA one, it’s a follow on from the other charges, they can’t not include it.

So Everton's was really just one charge?

No offence taken pal, just passing on that what's been said on record is also being repeated off record.

SWISS Ramble is a pretty knowledgeable guy…

The Twit you are talking about is Swedish Rumble…which appears to be some half arsed United supporting chancer playing off the back of far more superior and unbiased ‘Swiss Ramble’ name.

Swiss Ramble has generally moved most of his content to Substack to earn some pennies, I presume, and get away from the toxicity of X.

Chancer Swedish rumble # Swiss Ramble
Lol ffs!

Based of some of the weird sponsorship deals we've had from companies that are clearly owned by City, I'm finding it hard not to believe we won't be charged with something. I can't remember the betting company we were sponsored by but the picture of the CEO was just some stock image from google ha, definitely some dodgy stuff going on

Is he? I've never heard of him. I know Swiss Ramble is certainly a knowledgeable guy about finances and well respected. I've never heard of the Swedish guy - I thought he was probably a nobody hoping to sound authentic by copying Swiss Ramble, but is he?
Think the name has misdirected a lot of people, guys obviously a fraud. Swiss Ramble knows his stuff, he's always balanced and generally comes to a fair conclusion based only on what is out there. Swedish Rumble has mostly failed on this post, and that's why it was a bit confusing to me when reading it.

The guy posts on Redcafe and spent 9 months repeatedly insisting that the Qataris would end up buying the club as his ‘background in M&A’ meant that he knew there was no way could Radcliffe win

I’ve been involved in audits from financial, safety, quality & it’s a snapshot & a way of ensuring compliance or at least reducing the risk of failure. What always happens after failure though is it gets tougher for everyone & normally themed

around a high level failure.

Oh I know, was just saying there's always a chance to miss something due to overlook
