Anyone saying Messi has ever been bang average at anything on the pitch is either abusing substances or has far greater mental problems than one would wish on anyone.

I personally think that’s more due to us going from Gundo and KDB to the likes of Rico and Kovacic. Plus more importantly a back up striker playing as a 2nd forward or number 10 leaving our midfield wide open and our passing nowhere near what we’ve seen for years. Rather than a winger who can actually destroy fullbacks. Doku is actually very good at keeping hold of the ball with his strength. Maybe we need to coach him to just keep it and pass sideways instead.

Not sure this is the idea game for him, very tight pitch and they will be full on from the whistle, a game for tough nuts and experience, Grealish has to start.

Or pick the right pass, support the full back better and be aware of losing it in a vulnerable position, enabling the opposition to break in numbers and pace.
Agree re Lewis. A trier with a personality managers love, that's it.
Kovocic is like watching a Jules Verne deep sea diver.
 
I think id like to see him play RW more, if only to balance the team better.

Lets Grealish play LW more, gets Foden in the middle and while Foden is doing well on RW, we need his creativity and goals in the middle more than 1v1 dribbling on the wing which Doku has.

Doku isnt much of a goal scorer right now, he is a wing creator like Grealish (who cant score but can create).

This means we need our middle players to be goals, and currently thats a big strength of Foden.

Foden paired with Bernie would be great, Alvarez false 9 if Haaland is out.
