Would you want VAR scrapped?

"On another day with another VAR official, that would have been a red" - Alan Smith on sky just now.

Absolute disgrace, and proof for me that it's blatantly corrupt and open to manipulation.
And it makes you ask what is the point of it as it seems its made up as it goes along. A clearer red you could not ask for. 2 feet off the ground and a clear stamp into the shin.

Another example of it literally being used most weeks to try and fool us into thinking the ref has made the right decision.

2 red cards today or at the very least, please go take a look again on the monitor but no, let’s just pretend the ref was correct.

Fucking shocking.

Scrap the fucker.

It’s robbed the game of all spontaneity.

The trade-off for that was supposed to be a system that gets the big decisions right.

We were sold a lie.
Our second is a great example of the spontaneity being taken out of it. In the good old days you did a quick check that the linesman hadn't flagged and then celebrated. Today we were immediately told it was being checked for handball !! I didn't have a clue what they were on about at first especially as it hit his face. !

I heard that as well. And that comment absolutely sums up the state of VAR in this league. If that is the case - another official on VAR and it's a red - what is the fucking point of it? Seriously.....why have it? If you can't get consistency across decisions with different people, it's useless. And let's be honest, this decision was pretty easy....two-footed, off the ground, out of control and dangerous play. It ticked every box. Bin the fucker.

Yeah, if it allows for varying discrepancies and mistakes, then we may as well just rely on the ref.

Neither did I. Knew it would be checked, so little point in celebrating. That’s where we are now, it’s insane.
So you have the most qualified 'official' as the ref and he waits for two student IT interns in an industrial estate to make the decision, they slow it down a million times.....listen to Spitty and f'kin Gar to spout their uneducated opinions as they subconsciously want 'public opinion to be on VAR's side, look at the league table (and the replica shirt they have cycled to work in). Sky sports exec in their ear shouting 'keep the top six within 5 pts of each other ffs''...possibly look at their 'acca' as well for good measure, then after all that they make the ref decide by looking at an old black and white portable TV in slow motion...with the decision effectively already made. They just ask the refs to go over to watch to cover their arses...all takes ages. All of it sh*te, not helped or improved the game or atmosphere one bit. Worse still, we are training kids to not believe that a refs decision is final. Sport is about rough with smooth. You cant have VAR in grass roots so this constant, ranting from managers (lego 'ed especially), F'kin imbeciles in 'meeja', creates this environment which is bad for the future of the game as the vast majority play for fun and not professionally, let alone games with VAR in it......scrap it, it's pointless.
