would be absolute shit if Liverpool who finished 5th last season and was generally rubbish all season makes a few transfers like Fabinho, Henderson, Firmino,Milner Keita out, McAllister and Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Endo in and win the title straightaway.

I bet both Klopp and Arteta looking to do some January deal to improve their chances for the title.

Txiki needs to be clever here unlike what he did the summer. apart from the Barco guy I dont know if we gonna make any signings and even him could be getting the same treatment as Perrone last season.
probably offload Phillips on loan is possible.

Instead of title I think we need to start thinking about points.

So far 17 games 34 points and 21 games left!

Right now I'd be thrilled with getting 90 points (56 out of 63 remaining) but we might actually be closer to 76-80.

we are usually bit better second half of the season (will not be the case all the time) but yes our points tally so far is not great. 2 points per game exactly. I would be bit more ok with that if we had Spurs away, Castle away, Pool away already out of the picture.
but this is another 3 away games where I dont see one win for us.

We aren't dropping points because we are late getting up to speed. We are dropping points because we ran out of momentum.

We started the season storming, wining more opening games than ever before. We became complacent, coinciding with some basic plain bad luck seeing margins go against us.

Agree though, if we miss out because of it, we miss out. As long as we get back to our top the rest of it.
DeBruyne's injury has played a huge part of our inconsistencies. Haaland mixed form in front of goal along with his latest injury isn't helping either. Both of their returns will help us get some of that momentum back. Defensively we obviously need to drastically improve if we want to claw back our points.

2 points a game normally top 4 minimum benchmark most years I think.

How much do you drink at the match exactly?
The only game in this run of the results we didn't deserve anything out of was the Villa game. All the rest we dominated and should of won. We didn't play terrible in them draws, we defended poorly but our overall play was decent.

I can live with the Chelsea result and Villa result, but dropping points to Spurs and Palace were massive dents in the title charge. I thought the two latter were both fucking awful. Spurs were arguably even worse. They didn't even defend well, Palace at least did that IMO.

I’m sure it’s been said but as disappointed as I am in yesterday’s last 15 minutes or so I’m starting to get a bit of perspective.

What are some of the criticisms being levelled at us?

Not scoring enough goals/not clinical enough yet we are top scorers in the league - 4 clear of Liverpool.

Not defensively sound enough/conceding too many yet we have the joint second stingiest defence.

We’ve not had the best player in the world on the pitch yet, we lost some incredibly impactful players last year, new players are getting used to the system/new positions yet we are 4th and, worst case scenario, 6 points off the top spot.

We are still in this blues so get behind the fucking team!

City’s winning four in a rowwwww

KDB missed a large chunk of a season a few years ago, we didn't really miss him too much as we had David Silva creating things.
Also the same as when David was missing because of his premature son, we had Kevin creating things for the team.
Basically we don't have anyone else at the club as cover for kevs absence

And yet in both them games we played some very good football.

There isnt a stand out team this season all the challengers are vulnerable in one way or another and some are scraping victories against mediocre teams , we can hold on to the fact we can only get better , if we can field a settled team involving Stones,KDB & Haaland for 2024 , we will be in the mix.

we need rivals dropping easy games where they are expected to win. has not happened so much yet. on the contrary for example Villa winning games where no one expected them to win and win them regularly.
today would have been a good opportunity, they played Thursday night away in Bosnia come back to an away game Brentford, 1-0 down in 70th minute, but still find a way to win.

we need them to drop points alongside us picking up form and much more points.

2 points per game avg is what we have now, that is 76p over a season. we need to do better than that for a title.

Just as we’re still in a battle for the title, I’d contend we’re also in a battle for top 4.
Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool, they’re taking it in turns to get ‘champions’ results (ie. late winner after late winner), whilst we’re doing the polar opposite
This is exactly it. We need to understand that top 4 is all important. I'm sure we will get that but by the time we get back from Saudi even with games in hand, if 3 teams are 8+ points ahead of us then it is going to be hard to rein all of them in.
Teams are winning games they shouldn't and people are missing sitters and we are conceding daft goals. Makes for a tough period right now.

Yep it’s amazing how our composure has disappeared all of a sudden. That used to be Peps strong point.

I can also put the post up from posters who's arse had gone and had thrown the towel in this time last year too. Get a fuckin grip.

There is a substantial difference between last year and this year. We had better midfield play and a defense that wasn’t leaking in goals consistently. I was certain we would catch Arsenal last year. It is silly to to put up last years league table and not acknowledge the profound differences between last year and this year.
